Nice and informative videos!

What are the next steps now?
Is Lumintop confirmed to be the manufacturer?

Count me in for one.

Have you thought about an optional canopy for table use?

Think they’re looking to communicate (or they’ve already started) with Sofirn since they manufacture the Q8.

We have been communicating with Barry0892 who is working with the factory (same factory & engineers who built the Q8)

@severide, we are currently in talk with the manufacturer which is currently working with Sofirn, along with its engineers.

Thanks Smile i do like the BLF LT logo design that joechina did ( post #1825) and others seem to like that one too. its reminiscent of the Q8 Logo, but a lantern version. (and the lantern being a BLF project to it seems to work for it.

Any chance of using the Nichia E21A 2000k 90 CRI emitters? They are said to have alot of red and very high R9 value making it the perfect cozy flame like tint.

You are on the list joechina. I sent an updated list to DBSAR a week or so ago (which you are on) but he has not yet updated the OP.

Not everyone can read these online lists (not sure why) but if you can you can see you are on the list.

Wow, that would be a real candlelight. But i guess 2700K is more versatile for most users.

Doubt it. Efficiency would suffer tremendously, and they are quite hard to get.

Also, that would mean using a non standard board. That would mean people couldn’t mod their lanterns with LEDs and CCTs they want.

But that is a good idea nonetheless.

They could sell a separate board with 2700k and 3500k so we can change it?

*Barry0892 has updated me that the engineers at the factory have begin to work on the BLF lantern design. We do still have to establish a name/model for it still as the name BLF LT with the current design resembles the GT to closely, and because its a different factory that is working on the Lantern than the GT, ( Sofirn factory for the lantern where the GT was built in the Lumintop factory & a different place)
Should we put up a list of name ideas & vote on them?*
