How to keep track of discussions

I’m lost. Don’t know where I left off on any of the discussions I participated in. Can’t even remember which discussions those were.

  • Did I already post a response to Olight’s giveaway or was it just that I was intending on doing so? (If I respond a second time, it’s an automatic DQ.)
  • The “new replies” indicator is of no help, since I skim through a lot of topics to look for relevant issues that might appeal to me - and quite a few turn out less than interesting.
  • The Google search for posts under my name provides very inconsistent results, even when search by date is selected.
  • Subscribing to threads doesn’t provide any information about what or when I posted, makes look-up a difficult task when confronted with very long discussion strings and no way to mass search them (300 post limit is no longer available).

I understand that SB is trying to get the record of user posts back on line, but in the mean time, how are you all keeping track of your discussions?

I’m about ready to start cutting & pasting each discussion post URL into an excel file for tracking purposes.

Note; This discussion is not intended to criticize the new website. It’s intended for discussion of coping strategies, including off-the-cuff remarks, like, “who cares!” }

My subscriptions works fine, when new posts are made i click on the number and it goes to the first new post. The only wrinkle is that when you post in new threads your not automatically subscribed since the upgrade, a bug i believe SB is working on.

+1 I would like a log of all my post in my profile area. Let me see where I have posted and let others see where I have posted. Hmmm, does this sound like another forum ?

I really wish there was a way to find all of my posts as well.

Another feature lost in the upgrade
I assume all the lost features will return after SB takes care of the more critical issues

I get auto sub’d when I reply to a new topic

I haven’t received a notification since the transition. Even though my settings are set to receive updates when new post are available. Anyone else have that trouble?

I would love to have a record of all my posts. Even today, my thoughts were the same as the op’s. So I read through the entire Givaway thread to see if I had already posted:)

just hit ctrl-F and search for your user name
repeat once per page

I can’t seem to keep track of anything you post but it doesn’t bother me

Most BLFers treat each other with respect

Bort, it was just a joke, read the bold in the op: “Note; This discussion is not intended to criticize the new website. It’s intended for discussion of coping strategies, including off-the-cuff remarks, like, “who cares!” Evil”

It’s fixed, it’s fixed!

Not only can you find your threads again, under “My account”, but it’s even better than before. It includes the title of the discussion thread. And it shows much more of the posted message (you used to be able to see a small window of text by hovering over the post). These features make it much quicker to find what you’re looking for.

Thank you, SB!

Great ….!!!
