Thanks to vwpieces for reminding me of this thread

that is an amazing price for a really good brand/quality/light model.

Does it have low voltage safety? I am looking for something I can let someone have that does not understand lion.

Great deal.
Didn’t buy the VG10, as I already have 2, but did buy this 54W Tronsmart Quick Charge 2.0 4-Port USB Car Charger;

in for one, thanks

Anyone have a code for the thorfire c8?

That’s a great price for a light of this quality. From the looks and other ThorFire’s I own, it’s comparable to the Crelant’s in quality, but on this VG10, it’s missing the side switch. Still, great deal. Might just have to order one…

The JM07’s ended up being the real deal - great quality, outstanding discount.

Tom, I would agree with you regarding the VG-10. I own one of them and for people who are not really wanting to work on a light to improve it, there is really very little that needs improving. I would like to see a little higher high, but for the average person looking for a good light and not having a pile of 18650’s the runtime is more important. My VG-10 is always in my truck, it has a good mix of flood and throw and does not over heat if left on high for to long. I own more Thorfire lights at the moment than any other brand and so far they are all stock, other than LED choices. The TG-06 begs for either 219b’s or c’s and the version one begs for a warmer XP-G2.

I think Thorfire is the real deal! It feels to me like they have, in part, listened to comments here and from other people who are serious about lights and decided to build good products. I did get in for one of the 07’s and it should be here on Wednesday, I am looking forward to it. The 26650 lights to me feel and perform more like the Mag lights that I grew up on and that have influenced me in several ways, from my tint preferences to the diameter of the tube to the beam profile that I like. Not sure yet if I will feel the urge to mod the 07 or not, if I do it will get a good piggy backed FET+1 driver and Star momentary. I might even make a real contact board for it, don’t like stripping factory drivers unless they are junk.

Really like the VG10, moonlight is usefull and it shines decent on high.
Today the S50 arrived, like the VG10 finish is top notch and quality feel.

Thanks for the heads up… It looks a lot like the convoy M2.

Is it better than a olight s30 or equal to?

My thoughts exactly.

IMHO, the Olight S30 is far superior in many ways.

at 6x 3x the price it should
But what makes it so much better in your opinion?

For starters: Better interface, Very nice mode spacing, side button, no problem fitting protected/unprotected batteries, etc, etc

Thorfire are good, but no match (yet) for Olight.

Best Regards,

George

No issue fitting longer and thicker cells, some that do not fit a Convoy C8 fit the VG10 without a problem.

The forward clicking seems to be an issue for some, I like it other haye it.

Side switches are also personal I have found them easier to accidentally turn a light on and for that reason I do not carry them in a pocket or hanging on a clip inside my pocket.

As for spacing, the VG10 seems nicely spaced from moon, low med to high looks no extra mode is needed or like there is a gap between two modes or two modes too close to each other.

So it seems some things are really just subjective here, and well just as important

Thorfire lights are more or less built from an existing platform, much like when we buy a host and add driver/led. Olight in the other hand are built inside out, each component is made to work specifically in a certain model, and the flashlight is designed as a whole. A more dedicated R&D often results in an overall better product.

I have one already and I love it. The battery that comes with it is protected FYI.

At that price it will be hard not to justify buying another one!
