I can’t vouch for anyone else, but I like the new Mecarmy SGN3 light. I don’t like the MAP price however, and I didn’t like the answer I got when I made an offer to buy on eBay. It looks like the only way I am going to get one at a reasonable price is through a Group Buy. My goal is a price around $30. I think it may actually be worth that. I am not convinced it is worth $42.90.
I haven’t organized a Group Buy before, but there is always a first time. So if you might be interested in this light on a group buy, either PM me, or post your interest on this thread. Once I see how much interest there is, I will shop the business with various suppliers and see who wants it the most.
$25-30 is definitely NOT overpriced. This is not a common tube light manufactured from a lathe. It has custom designed components and the choices available for this size and style are very limited, I also thought my PT16 was overpriced, but after using it for a while i know why it costs so much.
If the SNG3 was driven a bit higher, maybe around 350 lumens like the surefires sidekick I would get one for sure. But at 160 is on the low side…
If someone get one of this and write on it Surefire (with the same characteristics and finish), people will say , wow! only 45 USD!…
Great design for a new brand.
(of course I talk about this because I have one unit and I am not talking for talking…)
I don’t quite see the benefit to this over a more compact AAA EDC flashlight, unless you just have to have the side switch. The integrated battery is a negative imo.
wrong forum, I think you are wrong……this is my forum for many years, I am happy here.
GB or not GB, for me is not important, I already have this, and think I must comment my reallistic opinion about the honest price for the quality of this MecArmy.
I didn’t say it wasn’t your forum. The comment I made was about the Surefire remark that you made because there’s another forum that absolutely worships surefire products and doesn’t care about their expense. It was meant to be a joke…not offensive.
Actually the surefire sidekick is an amazing keychain light. You might think all surefires have crap performance and I will agree with you on all their products BUT except the sidekick. The sidekick feels extremely well built and the output really seems to hit 300lm. A friend of mine has one, and while I don’t think it is worth $70, it is no doubt an excellent performer.
