Increased lumen and lumen/Watt are announced for the XP-G2 and XP-L

Up to 9% so it says, that is pretty significant. I’m curious when these are available for us humble hobbyists…

“By leveraging key elements of Cree’s SC5 Technology™ Platform, the XP-L and XP-G2 LEDs now provide up to nine percent more lumens and lumens-per-watt (LPW) than previously available. These enhancements allow lighting manufacturers to quickly increase performance for existing designs without any additional investment or requalification.”

“Up to…”

Hope we can get our hands on them soon!

Is xpl HI included ?

I wonder if voltage requiments are higher and maximum current the led can handle will be lower as has happened before with some XML2 LEDs.

I hope there is an identifier on the new chips, call them XP-G3 or new colour scheme or something, otherwise we will get lots of old chips sold as new.
