Of course. In 7-8 days will be a little review. I must finish first the Olight Smini Sus review and then start with this.

Got Convoy S2+ and Lumintop Tool AAA today.

Weird thing is that new S2+ is little different color and more glossy than one I have from before. Also driver is little changed. Old one was FX-12 marking, new is Convoy marking.

Is this color difference normal?

I had a lot of flashlights arriving lately, but the only one I'm gonna show here for the moment (as my 2017's 1st choice), is CRX-1000p (CRX's 1000 post GAW):

Description by it's maker, CRX:

http://budgetlightforum.com/node/50864 (CRX's pics at his topic's OP are much better than mine)

The plan..

This will be a carbon fibre sheathed reflectored brass flashlight with a Cree XP-L HI V2 1A emitter on copper DTP sinkpad driven by a MTN 10mm FET with guppydrv Rev.1, powered by a 10440 cell with soldered copper heatsink and ARC glass. It will have a tail forward clicky switch unfortunately/ fortunately depending on your preference and a magnetic removable battery carrier and rubber switch boot.
I am not totally sure how this light will be when finished as decisions are made during the building.

Has GB sorted the Tool TI mislabeling yet? Many here received the Cree version that had a GB printed SKU for Nichia. If yours is too white looking it may be a mix-up and is a Cree.

Mine is correctly labelled as Nichia 219B on the box.

I wish I had bought the Tool Ti Sad
Anyway, here’s my new light of the day :

I have the 18650 version for about 3 years and was eyeballing this one since then.
I really like it, 3 modes (I was hoping for a lower low) and a 3000K XP-G2.
I’m not even sure if I want to swap it, but the 219C sm305 is so gorgeous that it will be hard to resist ^^

I may give it a vinegar vapor bath to speed up the patina process Smile

LOL, my “Noname” MH20 Clone with USB charging and ramping UI from Gb arrived today, currently on sale for 10 bucks, I ordered “just for fun”, not expecting much:

Besides the hillarious box and the possibly dangerous UltraFire 18650 it doesn´t look too shabby, will test this evening.

Let me know how the output goes and the ramping feature.

Please check for flickering on low mode

Can you lend me some money to buy new flashlights?

Got the FET driver this weekend and got busy…

Emitter is a little off center, at least relative to the shroud piece on the drier. Need to adjust it a bit more…. I think. I can’t tell how well the LED is centered relative to the aspheric lens. Still throws like crazy though.

Hi,

I did a first quick check yesterday. Overall it´s not a terribly bad light for the price, but unfortunately also not a very good light.
Here´s a summary of what I found:

Positive:

  • overall solid construction, all parts easily accessible, nothing glued
  • very easy UI (one click on, one click off), fast ramping (3,5 seconds from low to high, 7 seconds for a full circle)
  • no PWM in any mode visible
  • takes any kind of 18650 batteries due to 2 springs design
  • low price
  • with 520 lumens (calculation via ceiling bounce) enough light for standard purposes
  • comes with 18650 battery and USB cable

Negative:

  • Fake XM-L2 LED (possibly LatticeBright clone)
  • maximium 520 lumens – far less than the claimed 1100 lumens
  • always starts on HIGH – no memory mode
  • threads are blank – no mechanical lockout possible
  • lowest setting still pretty bringt (30-50 lumens)
  • battery carrier a bit too wide – 18650 rattles inside light
  • beam has some strange rings on the outside of the spill
  • color temp is not 5000-6000K, but rather 7000 K, has no blue tint though..
  • included “UltraFire” TR 3000 is “suspicious”

Not clear yet/needs further tests:

  • USB charging behaviour (overcharging?)
  • LVP reliable?
  • Stand-by Drain of eletronic switch ?!?

I also posted some pictures of the light compared to the NiteCore MH20, see here (German).

K.

I do not like the clip of the JetBeam Jet-1 MK….. but the clip of the Klarus Mi7 (that now is solded separately) fits perfect on it:
