Grey switch cap from thorfire s70

Hi guys
I just want to ask if anyone got thorfire s70 with a grey switch cap instead a clear one where the battery indicator is?
Sorry i can’t post any picture right now

Yeah, I just received mine and it is grey color. I can barely see the light under the switch cap.

What is the point of battery indicator when you can’t even see it :rage:
I hope klarus g30 doesn’t disappointing

Same here.

Yeah, same for me as well.

Same here, grey rubber and switch illumination barely visible.

I’ve sent a pm to the Thorfire member on here.

yea my one is gray also! can you let me know what they say please?

Thorfire response:

We changed the color of side switch is in order to make the color look more close to the body of flashlight. In the evening, you still can see the color changes pretty well… Sorry that we didn’t consider it comprehensively.

Do most of people think that the translucent side switch was better?

Please let me know

I am so far waiting of my S70, but i think i will get same problem, so i subscribe on this topic.

thanks mate.
even at night i can hardly see!
is it just me?

Oh well at least i got it at cheap price

No its not just you!
I can only just see the illumination at night and even then only on the low output setting.
It’s a pity as its otherwise a great flashlight at a great price with the discount code.
It would have been good to have a clear indication of the battery state though.

It seems that the original first batch of lights came with the clear side switch cover then & the second, re-stocked batch, have come with a grey cover.
I had my light from the original first batch so have a clear cover, I wonder if Thorfire can supply clear covers separately ?
I wonder if “freeme” could ask them as he organised the group buy ?
BTW I love my S70

Someone can put a detailed photo? Thanks.

It’s not just you, even in complete darkness I struggle to see any illumination from the switch.

I’m surprised that the colour was changed to grey as that’s the purpose of the translucent button, to let the light pass through it.

A massive change to the original design where the battery condition can be seen in the daylight obviously before you go out in the dark.

anyone know what kind of tool to use to open the retaining ring of the switch cap?
it was so small i can’t get my snap on plier to work

I have the same question

Used a small screwdriver and carefully turn is, giving force at one hole first, not too uch, then switch holes.
again, with a little more force in the two holes, upped the force until it came loose, no scratches!

tough job for butter-finger like me :person_facepalming:

yesssssssss i know lol give me some views or else no one will lol!
