Olight i1 EOS

Hmmmm looks interesting ....

36 bucks is a lot for this light. The iTP A3 was $21. Seems like this one should be about $25.

I think the one he posted is the new version of what used to be the ITP A1. I have one and paid 24.95 for it. Not sure why Olight jacked up the price so much but despite it being overpriced, it's a very cool light.

You're paying for the XM-L upgrade. Whether that is worth an extra $10 in price is the question.

But now its a Olight !!!! [ Price ]

Seems strange to ditch ITP and then jack the price up on a light you already produced through that brand. A big reason for producing a brand like ITP is to make a product to your specs but sell at a lower cost without depreciating your core brand (Olight) value.

Yup, and all ITPs were XP-E Q5 (only last A3 batches had R5). Now, Olight A1 has XML, and A2 and A3 have R5. Take into account redesigned body (and perhaps circuit).

I have a Stainless Steel A1 on my keychain and it had a similar price tag on it. I really like its shape and I think Olight brand and an XM-L can be worth the price :)

I would like an i1 or i3 clicky. I think I'm about done with twisty's. Actually, I would most prefer the i2 with clicky switch because I find the AA/14500 the most versatile and practical compact EDC type light.

Does the i1 accept RCR123 like the A1 supposedly did? If so, that's much more appealing to me because I'm pretty much 100% rechargeable these days. I just can't throw away batteries when we have such fantastic rechargeable options. An i1 with XM-L that accepts RCR123 is a winner in my books. BUT... still not a fan of the twisty. CRAP! haha

I found I can press the head slightly and the light can turn on momentarily if I screw the threads just close to connection. I find 1-2 centimeters shorter light is better than a longer button one, but it is only preference.

If I could reproduce that consistently then it's definitely an attractive option. However, in general I find a clicky type switch outweighs a two-handed twisty operation even considering size disparity. I know you can operate a twisty with one hand but it's still more cumbersome. I wonder how consistent and reliable your method is. Also, do you think it might be activated quite a bit if being pressed in a tight pocket? Thanks for your feedback. It's got me interested again.

If anyone wants the iTP A1 EOS, it is on sale at Aimkon this weekend. Price: $24.95 But 15% off with coupon code Aimkon4falls. I added (1) battery to get it over $25 for free shipping. I think it was a total of $22.02, good price for a nice little light. Functions and Runtime: Low 1.8 lm (150 Hrs) --- Medium 35 lm (8 Hrs) --- High 190 lm (1.6 Hrs)

Higher price means more quality (at least in some forums) and thus means more sold lights, yet more profit.

I am pleased with the i1 - it survived a full wash/dry cycle in a front-loader.

There is a tiny bit of anno wear around the rear rim of the torch, but all functions are intact.

Since then, I have used RCR123s with no ill effect.

The SS version is a couple dollars more, almost the same price. I know what I would buy!

(before, in the ITP model name, the Al was in the $25 mark, the SS was in the $40 mark. Now its 36 vs 40)

actually $37 vs $40. Kind of a no brainer huh?

36 from the OPs link, still a definite no brainer
