Fell Off the Wagon

***Lame Thread Alert*** Be proactive: use the back button . . .

My boss has been lusting after my 980L forever and keeps saying, "build me one of those lights like you have." When I told him I didn't build the 980L he asked me to "get " him one. So, I told the wife what I was going to do and she smiled sweetly, gave me a kiss and I made my way over to Manafont.

Ordered a 980L and a charger for the boss man . . . however, I also "piggy-backed" a couple of 3-mode T6 drop-ins and then went directly to Solarforcesales. The actual rolling off the wagon happened in the Collectors Corner when I saw the "Solarforce 2011 New Twins Premium L2T and L2P." Yeah, baby!

All that goodness will soon be on the slow boat from you-know-where to you-know-who. I'm bored tonight and it's been a long time since I've done this so, cut me some slack - I'm a little excited.

Also, E1320 put my F15 in the mail today after a driver swap. No more blinkys and he said it's pulling a (fairly) stable 3.5 amps now. When I can find an SMO for that bad boy, watch out!

Those are for your boss, right?

any sort of disaster to me......I woke up to find I had a burning hot Dry 3 x XM-L in my hand

Take all the slack you need Foy.

So none of this 1 drink business. You went for the keg!

Welcome back!

don't get on the wagon if you can't get a good grip is what I always say lol

It's weird but waiting and anticipating an order, having something to look forward to is definitely part of it for me. Seems a small thing for what I get out of it.

In the SF sales picture of the L2P and L2T "twins" the bezels are on the wrong bodies. I like the L2T bezel on the L2P. Looks nice but I dont see it for sale by itself.

I wish I was on the wagon.

I agree from what I can see but what would the L2T be like if the "cigar holder" was removed. I'm thinking that might look pretty good.

I'm not really sure the wagon even exists for most of us. I suspect we are all (hobby)aholics. The only thing that changes is the variable inside the brackets. The only certainty is that the bracketed area can never be empty. Its not in us to let it remain so. The bottom line being that if we get on the light-wagon we simply end up spending the same (or more) on some other hobby.

I was just gonna say what oldbob said, ithink you’ll be happy with the f15,I swapped mine out with a mf 3 mode xml driver and its been good,I got the reflector in my manacart.

No mercy on this board!

"you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave"

There are many worse wagons to fall off of.

It's not really falling off the wagon if the boss is paying for all the accessories he doesn't know about is it? Last I heard those 980L lights were selling for about $120, right?? ;) ;)

I like the way JohnnyMac thinks. I'm giving him a "package" with batteries and charger that took great care and skill to assemble. Besides; the 980L is Foytested, Foyrecommended and Foyapproved. That's gotta be worth . . . well, it's worthy.

Thanks for the reflector headsup, oldbook.
