After a long time, they are finally available. I’m terrible sorry that there isn’t any custom this time, only factory version is available.
But they do have some upgrades. I’ll try to list them all here. Any doubts,pls post it here. I’ll try to get the answers.

Bigger body to fit 4*Eneloop AA.(In series, 1-3AA won’t work,I can get AA-D or 2*AA-D tube though)
However,the body is too short for 18650 or 26650/32650 now.

I’m sorry I can’t get a better price anymore. They said the SS bezel is really hard to machine, though it looks beautiful,machinist can only make 2 or 3 pcs in one hour.
That’s terribly increasing the cost,the battery holder gets expensive too.
Operation:
Brightness Select - Click the On/Off-button to turn on the light and then click the M-button to select brightness (Low(Default)-Mid-High-Turbo)
Aviation Signal - Long Press the M-button when the light is turned on
SOS - Long Press the On/Off-button when the light is turned on
Strobe – Long press the M-button when the light is turned off
Moonlight - Long Press the On/Off-button when the light is turned off
Locked /Unlock – Depress and hold both buttons for more than 2 seconds under any conditions

It’s very pretty, but also disappointing, since they’ve gone backward on the specs. Why would they make a lithium capable light (voltage-wise) that is now almost long enough for 18650/26650, but not quite? They made it wider to accommodate 4X Eneloop, but shorter for what reason? I’ve waited all this time, and now have to reconsider whether I want one. :cry:
Edit: OP says reflector is SMO, but pictures show orange peel reflector? Please clarify.
I’m confused too. I have one in my hand, it is SMO with XML2. I thought it is OP for XPL HI, it doesn’t make sense for a thrower to use OP.
So I asked Lumintop, they told me there is only SMO.
Don’t know why it looks like OP in the picture. Maybe they used the old reflector to make a sample and took the photos?
I like it a lot, and I would use it with Eneloops anyway. 4xAA in series is excellent for efficiency and regulation. The D-cell compatibility is a bonus. The XP-L Hi is what I prefer. And I like the UI very much.
Rey, can the bezel easily be opened (no glue) and reflector removed to reach the ledboard?, if I get in on this I would like to change the emitter to a better tinted one.
I’m very disappointed. I was really looking forward to this one, but no 26650 is a deal breaker. I was really hoping for a bit slimmer, and 3AA/D/26650 power.
I ordered on pre-sale and it arrived yesterday. The first thing I noticed was the AR lens which has a high quality appearance. As mentioned above the anti roll is weak but does work. Place it with the switches down and it stays. The body has a nice feel to it and sits in the crease of the hand. The switches are easily found in the dark. You get to moon from off with a long press. Normal gives l/m/h/turbo. The signal beams are excellent. Beacon or aviation as they call it is intense. This is labeled as a search light and the spot beam is tight and dense. The AR gives it a very cool bluish tint in the XP L version. I tried it last night with a hundred meter sweep and liked it. I compared it to the EA41 beam. The SD4A body is almost balanced with cg just aft of center. You can tell that a lot of TLC was given to the making of this light. Every detail has been addressed. Ceiling bounce inside shows slight yellow center which disappears or blends with each higher mode. Outside, again, dense beam with bluish edge from the ar lens. This is a high quality light! It has memory. I used Duracell NiMH rechargeable 1.2v fresh at 1.35v 2400mah rated each. It’s somewhat heavy but durable. It tailstands well (both ends) and again, you can find the switches easily. The wife was impressed (these people always sending me lights…LOL) Beamshots later.
The all batteries compatibility was what made it so attractive to most people. But a good 4AA light would be also nice if quality and price are good.

is the driver for sure incompatible with lithium batteries?
