Ti3 comes on when head is pressed?

Hi guys,
I posted here for the first time a week or so ago asking for advice on a new aaa flashlight. I went with the ti3 and it arrived today. Its amazingly small, smaller than I expected so thats nice. However, when the head is pushed down or to one side the light comes on. while this could offer some sort of momentary on function, it makes cycling the modes difficult because it will sometimes flicker as I twist the head.
Is this normal? It’s a bit annoying but otherwise love the light.
thanks, Ross.

Its normal. It works by making or breaking electrical contact. it’s due to the tolerances in the threads.

Well that’s with all my twisty’s. So I assume its the same with the ti3.

Ok, thanks! I’m sure I can live with it

I usually put an extra O-ring in the gap behind the head, to make the head stay unscrewed far enough that this intermittent-on doesn’t happen (so the light doesn’t come on in a pack or pocket).
That makes it a bit more effort to tighten the head far enough to turn it on intentionally.

That works as long as there are enough threads that the head doesn’t fall off (sigh)

That’s a great idea, thanks!

Slightly off topic but since you have a Ti3 thought I’d throw this in there…

I lost the clip to my Ti3 a while back and eventually emailed customer service telling them it was lost. It took almost a month shipped from China but when package arrived I had two free clips. Just FYI in case you lose yours.

On a light like the Lumintop tool (with twisty tailcap) it’s actually a cool feature. You can loosen the tailcap a little and cycle through the modes with thumb taps.
