Hi whats the best way to polish an anodised finish?

Something that isn't too aggressive - jeweller's rouge and a polishing wheel. Brasso and a duster woud be my favourite.
Anything more aggressive will remove the anodising. Aluminium will reform the oxide layer almost instantly though. The anodising is only a few microns thick and is much tougher than the underlying aluminium.
