Is the Sony VTC5 is the best high drain 18650 battery ?

I was wondering if there is a better high drain battery than the Sony VTC5

if there is please give a name, all i care about is the Continuous discharge current.

VTCA is the best that i have tested, in some situations LG HE2/Samsung 30Q

I agree with Mitko about the HE2 and 30Q. In my direct drive lights they pull the most amps. As an added bonus the HE2 is cheaper than the others.

I use HKJ's data to compare batteries. Compare the Sony to Efest IMR18650 3000mAh and also Samsung INR18650-30Q 3000mAh. Here's the link... http://lygte-info.dk/review/batteries2012/Common18650comparator.php

I would add the LG HD2 (2000mah) and HB6 (1500mah) to the mix of the better high-drain cells. The latter being the highest drain LG that I know of, with the trade off of less capacity.

If you want a bit more capacity with decent high-drain capability, then the Samsung 30Q and the LG HG2 are good “all around” cells, IMO. :beer:
