I am testing the BD01 now, and I like the charging method a lot.
It does look great. Looks smaller and brighter than the bd06 too.
It doesn’t require you to hold switch to turn on and off the light right?
It’s just like a normal tail cap switch?
I was just thinking of ordering a convoy m1 but might get this bd03 instead now.
Which one is best? Bd01,… Bd02 or Bd06?

Yes it has a clicky side switch
I think the BD02 is the 18650 version of the BD01 (that fits 26650 and 18650)
I think the head of the BD01 is a bit bigger BUT the driver has only the five mode memory with blinky options where the 06 has two mode groups.
Output is rated the same.
It is a pita to take apart so if I had to choose now I would go for the 06 since I hate blinky 
Just purchased a bd06. Seems the brightest of the bunch.
I’d be REALLY interested to see pictures of the driver set-up in a BD01, 2, or 6. I’ve seen a 3, but I’d like to see how the side-switch ties in
I have had the BD03 almost since it came out. I like it, but it is a little weak. Love the charge clip.
I have the bd04. I added some amc7135s to double the current. I also installed an XPL hi. I like input much better this way!

Just came across this as I was looking for a single 26650 light to go with the L6 when I buy it. I really like the looks of this and the only thing I wish it had was a tail switch. Reckon the tail cap off of the X3 would fit and how it would do with the side switch?
If it is like the other BD serie it is not a electronic side swith.
So having a second swith in the tail would mean bth ON for on and if either one of them is OFF no light
Meaning that if you install a secondary switch you just need to put the one you do not want to use in ON and are good to go.
Thanks for the info. I may have to try this later, not to many single 26650 lights put there. I have looked at the Shadow JM20 and it’s still an option but I am really liking what I hear about Convoy and would like to give Simon a try.

Oh wait it is important to know the tail is different from other lights. It has a large spring connecting the cell to body and a hollow space. In this space two rubber star shaped rings reside that let you use a 18650 without ratling. To make a button there requires some work and spring adaptation.
I just got through unboxing and using the BD06. I like the simple UI L/M/H. I used a fresh Basen 4500 26650. After about twenty minutes I charged using the switch adapter. At first I didn’t know if it was working but then caught the faint red glow in the reflector. I shut the lights off and voila. Light turned green very quickly (15 minutes). Fast charger works well. I could get used to this light. Well built, sturdy, switch clicks smoothly. I’ll wait until someone else “beefs” it up. The U2 1A seems to need a little kick added to it for brighter. It came with the European adapter and no rubber rings. Nice light!
You won’t be disappointed. In the rare case there is a problem, Simon is very responsive and accommodating
