Budget thrower

So I came really close to buying this today but couldn’t part with the $100+ to bring it home. I thought of you guys and thought you might know of a good budget thrower that’s comparable to it.

The M2X Javelot claims 810m of throw. Is there something more budget friendly that offers throw like that in such a small package? I like the smaller size of the M2X plus the fact that it only takes 1 18650. What thrower would you recommend? The M2X has only three modes and that’s fine too. UI doesn’t matter tons just want it to be fairly intuitive and not infuriating

If you like zoomies, http://www.gearbest.com/led-flashlights/pp_263535.html is had to beat if modded with dedome xpg2 s2 0d. Best thing is its cheap.

I don’t LOVE zoomies but wouldn’t be against it as long as the hotspot isn’t square. Are zoomies waterproof? Ish?

It’s probably illegal to say on this site but I’ve never modded before. So anything I get will either need to be stock or I could maybe pay someone to mod it for me.

You can try the Couriu D01, but the build quality is nowhere near the Olight and requires heavy modifications to achieve the same performance.

A fully modded Convoy L2 can get close to 200kcd, that would cost you about $50.

A fully modded C8 gives you 110kcd in a smaller package than the Olight for about $30.

The M2X UT I believe is about 200kcd… If you go for it there are several members here that can get you a nice discount, I got my M3X UT for just $85.

More info please, via PM of course, thanks

Two things:

1. I’d love a PM on that great M3X price.

2. My, uhhh, friend would like to know what kcd is.

I googled it. Found the answer on this forum haha. If 200kcd yields 800m of throw I guess 110kcd yields about half the throw distance?

Ive got one of these I’m willing to sell.

Budget thrower group buy price.

Thanks Johnny that looks like a good deal but a bit too big size-wise for me.

Going Gear has a sale on the Olights if you are on their mailing list. 20% off with the code.

I will be starting a GB on this light Maxtoch 2X in a very short time, probably by the weeks end. I thought I was going to announce it today but have not gotten the final OK from Maxtoch yet.

It will be less than the $100 mark and will DEFINATELY out throw the Javelot M2X-UT with at least another 100K lux more , with the Javelot being about 200K lux ( and the 2X around 360K lux (1450 lumens with factory dedomed XM-L2 U4 emitter) , Javelot rated at 810 meters and 2X rated at 1200 meters , a larger head and reflector on the 2X , much better runtime and no “step down” needed with the 2X in high mode.

Be sure to provide remote pressure switch for it because it is not that easy to find one…

Thanks Robo; I think after seeing tru3s1lv3r’s post I might just pull the trigger on the Olight from Going Gear. $88 for that light sounds like deal to me! For the size it’s really a great thrower. I didn’t love the tint but I think I can live with it.

Does that Brinyte zoomie come with the pressure switch shown in the pics? If not where is it available? Gearbest has it somewhere? By the customer pics it appears it’s not included.

Hey Will,

I already picked up a convoy L2 with factory XP-L Hi and I really like the size and stubby looks and that it runs with one 26650.
BUT every time I use it I´m a bit disappointed because the driver is only 3A and I know the XP-L could do so much more.
So i´d be interested to know what parts you´d recommend for a MAXED OUT Convoy L2.
The host (obviously), the LED (stick with 3V XP-L Hi and give it more AMPs or use a different dedomed Cree Led? with 3 or 6 volts), the driver and so on… the goal would be max throw for a budget price.

Thanks,
K.

From the other thread it seems the M24/BLF M24 pressure switch will lego on the M24 2X. I think they currently sell these, I got mine with the BLF M24 light. Great thrower
