Performance:
As you can see from these 2 graphs the Tool AAA has pretty good mode spacing. The lux is measured using a ceiling bounce that I calibrated as close to rated lumens as I could.
Runtimes were decent. My only disappointment with the light is the NIMH runtime. Although I got 8 minutes more than Lumintop advertises in their specs, I would like to see this be a bit more competitive with the Ti5. Although I didn’t make a graph, this light has awesome performance with energizer lithium batteries.

Construction:
The light is well built. Good threads, good contact points with the batteries, with no rattle. The reflector is OP and a glass lens. the pocket clip is probably the best of any of my AAA lights. It fits pretty comfortably in a thick pair of work jeans. I can’t say the same for most AAA lights. The o rights were all in good shape and the light did have some light lube on the threads.

Final Thoughts:
What a nice little light at a nice price. I really like what Lumintop is doing with their amazon store. They offer the light in several different options, and also make it easy to get replacement pocket clips. The only negative I have to report is that runtime with NIMH is a little on the short side for my liking. The construction seems great, and the performance is nice. I took this guy backpacking and the pocket clip is plenty strong and the light is definitely water proof!
Amazon has a version with both clicky and magnetic tail caps for those who want to try both. I ended up using the magnetic tail cap (so now its a standard twisty) cause it shorter and personally works better for me for the way I hold the keys and light. The clicky tail cap works good when the light is detached from my keychain.

fwiw, the head of the Copper Tool (both the ReyLight and Lumintop versions) swaps with the head of the Maratac (the NoPWM version made after Oct 2015 that has the ring around the LED) and both legos work!
in the next pic is the old version of the Tool and Maratac with PWM on left, then the new version with NoPWM and the ring around the LED on right
the latest version of the Tool, now on Sale is the NoPWM version
the NoPWM Tool and NoPWM Maratac heads are interchangeable (older models with PWM had 1 less threads and may not Lego with the new NoPWM models)
and fwiw, the head of the NoPWM Copper Worm w Nichia works on the NoPWM Maratac body too, but the Maratac head wont work on the Worm body, because the Worm has 2.5 less threads than the Maratac:
lastly the NoPWM Copper Worm w Nichia head works on the Thrunite Ti3 series (both stainless and Titanium)
