I’m looking for a flaslight i don’t know what battery would be best I want a compact but powerful flashlight that cn fit in a fanny pack to edc?
I would recommend the BLF A6, or the equivalent Astrolux version. I have been really happy with mine.

I have the 8 7135 it is plenty bright
I have dropped it quite a few times.it is scratched dinged and dented. It just holds up to daily use. Simple driver I leave it in 3 mode low med high.

I have an a6… honestly my s2 sees much more use. I won’t reccomend a6 to anyone I know. If it is tail standing on a camp chair and tips over it changes modes . any tap changes modes . I can’t even put it on my handle bars of bike don’t get me started With the stick a paper clip to it to fill gap or out of round body… driver is great on that light. But… that’s not going to make it reliable

T6 3b tint neutral color or the warm one. Nice easy on eyes great in rain or wet great in woods or for wiring.

Get a cone diffuser for light. Extra glass lens extra o rings. Silicone lube. And deep carry clip. You won’t even feel it in back pants pocket.
You will be ready for anything that is in the dark in less than a week if u get s2+ the battery and charger from mtnelectronics. All the spare parts order from China and just be ready to wait a month

Also your question on where to get cells worries me a litte, you have read about or know about how to handle and treat LI ION cells?
I agree 8x 7135 is. Too much for edc it gets hot too quickly on high. 6 7135 would run longer and still be very bright
I agree on a Convoy S2/S2+ with 6*7135. Choose a neutral 3C and you’re done.
You also have to buy some good quality 18650 from a known brand (Samsung, LG, Sanyo, Panasonic…) and a godd charger (Nitecore, Xtar…)
Don’t buy an A6 as a first flashlight…FET driven lights aren’t reliable nor for “beginners”.
Seriously, I keep reading here and on Reddit “yeah, buy an A6” to newbies and that’s dangerous IMHO.
They go really hot and can do some bad damages !
For someone new to high powered LED flashlights, I suggest sticking with AA or AAA cells. The world of CR123 and 18650 cells is a bit tricky to grasp at first and there are some dangers if you don’t know what you’re doing.
