GBGB, LD-51 dual cell XHP35 Boost Driver, Great Price!

Update 15/8/16.
Driver is in stock. http://www.gearbest.com/led-accessories/pp_391948.html
If you haven’t received a private message pls contact me.

__________________________________________________________________________
I asked if gearbest could sell the LD-51, and they responded and asked if we are interested in a group buy for it.
The LD-51 is a 2 cell boost driver for the XHP35 12V led.

Some specs:
Dia:28mm
Height:less than 7mm
2S input (!). So the driver requires 2 cells in series to work.
Max 1.5A output.
Thermal step down.

Quote:
info from GB;
how it work: 110-100-90 ℃ to 700mA-900mA-1200mA to
it means
(1)when the temperature is over 110 ℃,max output amps will be 700ma,
(2)when the temperature is over 100 ℃,max output amps will be 900ma
(3)when the temperature is over 90 ℃,max output amps will be 1200ma

the temperature control system could provide more protection possbility to solve the over heat problem, but it doesn’t mean 100% to avoid such over heat problem, as the

the default seting will be effected by the assembly technique

The modes are currently at 2% – 25% – 100% (my fault LOL ), but I asked if they could change it and they said: “If it’s just simple change”. And it has off-time memory (takes 1 sec)
So lets hear your idea’s!

Group buy stats.
- we need at least 100 pieces
-price, at this point, is $5.69
-It will take 10-15 days to produce these drivers, so after we reached the goal of 100 it takes 10 -15 days before you can order.

total: 56 pieces, 44 to go.

Not without modifications…
You have to make the driver cavity bigger.

At that price I’d pop for four. I can always unload any extras later.

Three Tanna leaves to give him life, nine to give him movement. But what if he eats the whole bag?

Any host that can use a 28mm driver. And preferable a 2 cell host. A couple that I can think of right now are the small sun zy-t08 and courui d01, though they need some modding to get it working.
There aren’t many around that wont require some modding, afaik.

@Rufusbduck, are you happy with the modes? (2% – 25% – 100%, off time memory and thermal stepdown controll (which is build in in driver))

I’ll claim 4. So this allows one cell to push XHP 35 ?
Will this work with other LEDs ??

If it is a boost driver, is it boosting 2 cells up to 12 V ? Is XHP 35 a 12 V led ?
If so, I will have to rethink this.
Please add more info to OP for us non-techs.

Here it is, http://www.kaidomain.com/product/details.S025108 and yes the XHP35 is 12volt. I run mine at 16.8v at 2.5amps. Going to try 16.8v at 3 amps soon!

@KawiBoy, how do you want to use the courui? 2s3p 18350’s? Or a special configuration?
I have been thinking to use the courui too but I cant figure out the battery config.

Depending on modes, I’d be in for 4-5. I’d prefer 4 modes with a low-low or moon, but I’d still buy with 3 modes.

Can you verify the drive current is 1500ma? I sourced these direct from China when they were first mentioned, never purchased because I couldn’t get an answer to whether the drive current was 1000ma or 1500ma, all I got was “between” or “either” those two, which is not how a CC driver works, should be one or the other, not “between”, and I’m not committing to >10 from a vendor I haven’t dealt with before without knowing the either/or spec.

Either way, good price, put me down for at least a few regardless of specs.

Thanks for putting this together.

-Michael

ETA: That whole statement was not directed at you thijsco19, was reading back through the thread to make sure I hadn’t missed something, didn’t catch it the first time but I see now where I was unclear that sentence could have been construed wrong and could be interpreted as rude. I added the underlined/bold part to clarify. Sorry

How about running 2 XHP 50 in series? Because XHP35 is not easily accessible, I don’t know a shop that sales them, with free shipping from china, that is.
I think I will be able to cook something with those 2 x XHP50 that I have on route to me Smile

In for 2 pcs, also please, be sure to remind me via PM when this starts, too many threads here Big Smile

P.S. Atmel based mcu would be very very nice btw Innocent

Don’t have a light that fits it (maybe th Courui) but maybe change a SRK to 2S2P with a higher voltage LED is a nice winter project.
So put me on the list for 2.
Thanks for doing this Thijsco!
