moving

Taking a break from packing/moving - thought I'd share with you some of the fun you're all missing on this fine Sunday evening . . .

Former flashlight photography studio that my wife also used as a kitchen . . .

The nerve center for Foybezels, Inc., epic soon-to-be-former location of superior wit/snappy come-backs . . .

Spare bedroom clutter (left) and stuff that didn't make the cut, to be donated or otherwise disposed of . . .

Foy's Foyer.

V10 powered, 17 foot U-Haul, wife's 3.5SE, Foy's Passat and (not seen, next to Altima) Foy's Z28.

There you have it; the last two weeks of my life and one last week at this house. The Uglywall test facility will be missed by all, I'm sure. I've about burned a hole in that cactus plant 55-feet away.

Moving sucks sooo bad. Here is where you'll find your true friends. lol

Perhaps I missed it but where ya headed?

i had a passat, but mine was a red glx v6 4motion sedan. had 206k miles when i traded her in for the xterra. loved that car

what you got for a z28?

I didn't even know you had a PissAnt.

*Crying, Crying, crying* (i love that song)

If you think you have problems, think about this....I just turned 60....and IT SUCKS

Aww, man. I'm gonna miss that cactus.

I too know the pain of moving. Giving notice, and the waiting. god, the waiting. It seems like it takes forever for that last little yellow packet to arrive. :P

Seriously though, take care, and don't forget to take out emergency lights out of the glovebox. It's a rental!

Mine's a GLX V6 with 77k miles but it's not a 4Motion. (unfortunately) The Z28 is a '97 6-speed, Eibach Pro-Kit, Flowmaster, some lame BBK throttle body, Moroso cold air and a custom tune from I-don't-know-where. I've never had it at the track but for an LT1, it runs like a damn scalded cat. It'll put an instant couple of car lengths on most LS1s off the line, then they slowly reel me in on the top-end. Feels (and sounds) a lot faster than it is.

We're moving just a couple of miles away into another house.

Steve - please tell me 60 is not that bad. I've got a little less than 8 years to go and I need reassurance that all will be good when I get there.

This is my beast. My wife is making me sell it - we're "simplfying" our life.

Only if you let it.............64 feels like the 'new 29'.

My 57 chevy ragtop beats your.......wife *smiles*

tell her a 6 speed muscle car is simple. simple to blow the doors off them honda ricers that is. the lt1 is a good motor

This plate is on the beast now but here it is on my previous ride.

Foy

And, here it is (older design) on the ride before that . . .

When this car had 700 miles on the odometer (bone stock) I ran 13.7@103 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. That's with me and my sloppy launch and old lady .400 reaction time. Gotta respect the LS1.

Foy

good luck with the move and the simplifying.

"Simplifying" is a real good thing although, letting that Camy go ... have to wonder if its really worth it

He had been working on his own car up in Scotland. He drove the same car on the road to the races.

An American Air Force SGT was flying along at 120 MPH in a Thunderbird and then Jackie passed him at 150 MPH and gave him a shock.

Couple of other F-bods I had before that. I did several SCCA autocrosses with the GTA. (left) It was an SLP, formerly owned by a prominent local attorney. Fastest dang L98 I have ever driven. A serious Goliath slayer, that Poncho was.

Was subsequently stolen, involved in a high speed police chase during which it successfully evaded a posse of Metro Crown Vics on the 95, only to be cornered in a cul de sac a while later. (couldn't out run the helicopter) My nephew is a Metro officer and he heard about it and said the pursuing officers said that when he got on the freeway, "that Trans Am just walked away from us." He then rammed two patrol cars trying to get out of the cul de sac, destroying the car and - not getting away. All I have left is the "WS6" wheel hubs.

My last move I let the movers handle it. The move cost me about twice as much as doing it myself, but the wear and tear on my back ,my hips(one replaced other needs to be done) and brain was worth the extra cost.

There is a sense of satisfaction that comes from renting that U-Haul/Penske truck and packing and hauling your stuff a few miles or across the country. Everyones situation is different so the only right way to do a move is your way.

How is kitty handling it? Moves can be stressful on pets . My cat; Killer has traveled not only all over the country, but has been over seas as well. He has many miles on him. Funny thin is animals can sense things in a new home humans can't. In one rental I lived in Killer seemed very uneasy at times, like someone else still lived there. I did a little "pounding of the concrete" and found out that the tenant b4 the previous tenant was actually killed in the apartment. was it a "ghost" maybe? Who know Killer got over it in time but it something I think about when moving. Not that it's a deciding factor in the deal just something in the back of the mind.

Hope ur move goes well :) does the the new house have a cactus to burn?

Th only one that I will get buryed with is a small English sports car.

1968 Sunbeam Tiger.

Ford 289 V8, 3 speed C4 transmission, somewhat customized.

If you have seen the old TV series Get Smart....that is the car.

where is the moving box full of solarfoce flashlights

I'm sorry Solar Force is way more expensive than THAT

I'm using the U-Haul to move a few things from the garage but we're hiring moving guys to lift the heavy stuff and move most the boxes. I'm well past being able to move us like I used to and I gain zero satisfaction from any aspect of this experience. My wife found a thing called, "Three Guys and a Truck" so, they're going to come over and hopefully, beat up my furniture somewhat less than I would.

Also, I've got two orders coming from Solarforce-sales and two from Manafont. I'm hoping the two earlier orders make it here before we leave for good this Friday. The other two will likely go through the change-of-address program, whatever that is. (and however successful/efficient is ends up being)
