I jumped in a bit late but the coupon worked and I got an XP-G3 in regular SS for the $38 along with an extension tube. Spoke to a CS rep there and it is ready for packaging and shipment. SInce I already have the S41 in Nichia I decided to give an XP-G3 a shot.

Was about to cancel reading it in as shipped to some while my order was changed to backorder.

But the moment I was going to go to Banggood to do that I received an email stating it is shipped.

Funny thing though, I had the order in cart twice because first time I had the colored tube and I wanted the normal 18650 tube
But it looks like I pur the wrong through so it comes with the colored tube. Ah well good opportunity to check that as well.

The XP-G3 is more lightfull and has a warmer color tint. And it is a bit yellow.

Given that it has 4 leds, is that a reason other than heat tranfer limitations that makes it not being able to output around 2,000 lumens in turbo?

Any high drain is fine. I’ve been using 700mAh Efest and Enercig with great success.

My extension tube came into today too. Slightly over 10A reading taken from the tail with my full charged Samsung 25R!

Now I need to find a SS pocket to go with this light. Slot is about 4mm, regular SS clip from Astrolux SS or Convoy will not fit in them.

YES! That would really make this light. Looking forward to receiving mine (CREE XP-G3/G2 A6). I’ve got two of the ordinal ones and really like them. One for work (Nichia 219B) in 18350 mode & one for home/EDC (CREE XP-G2 A6) in 18650 mode. Good to hear you can notice a difference in the knurling.

Freeme, is this the XP-G3 version you’re getting this reading from?

Knurling is much more aggressive than previous Astrolux SS for sure.

Nichia 219. I could feel heat building up in my 2.5mm thick copper lead on turbo innocent

It is rather easy for my samples. If you really have to disassemble one, I advise you to check with other S41S owners.

I’ve been out of the loop. Is there a version of this light planned with 219C’s or XPL HI’s?

The low mode should be lower.

It is up to individuals. I personally will not EDC one because I prefer to go light and I usually do not need >1k lumens (I live in bright city).
