My typical experience with Astrolux MH10

Any ideas whats going on here? As far as i can tell the bottom button should not turn the light off, yet it does.

Maybe cell is too drained to operate on higher level so light is turning off?
Charge your battery and try again.

It shouldn't behave this way. 3.6V is not considered as over drained level.

@Liber8 try break up the connection (remove battery) and power up with a button top 18650.

Also, what cell are you using?

It happens with newly charged cells too. Just tried it.

Did it ever work properly?

This was with a new sony vtc6. It also happens with my protected panasonics that are button tops. So i dont think its a fit issue.

I still get "1000" lm from LCD at 3.6V with my Imalent version.

Did it ever work properly since you purchased it?

Maybe try cleaning the touch switch surfaces?

Sometimes it works as it should but mostly this strange behavior. Also, just put a fresh cell in and after 20 seconds at 1000 lumens the voltage steadily dropped to 3v and the low battery indicator popped up. That cant be right

…and I still get “1000” lm from LCD at 3.6V with my Astrolux version.

I agree that can’t be right. I would venture to guess the driver is shorted or malfunctioning in some way. I would be curious to know if the battery got warm during this rapid discharge?

Nope. Battery was not warm and when i put it in my charger it was full. Happened again this morning. I think the voltage reader malfunctions sometimes. I could tolerate finicky touch controls but my light just all around malfunctions way too often. It shouldnt turn off when i try to reduce lumens and should do a better job of reading correct voltage. I contacted banggood but Im not holding my breath.

I have the same light and have not experienced the issues you are having.

Do you have the same issue with the 18350 tube installed?

I don’t have the short tube. It was listed as a freebie when i ordered but wasnt sent.

Just received my MH10, so far so good on both 18650 and 18350 tube. Had to clean both the tube contact to get them working.

The UI seems to be working fine. I could get it to turn on most of the time using my finger tip just below the nails.

hmm this light is designed for men fingers only :stuck_out_tongue:

no soft fingers

Got this short tube and yes same problems. I had actually ordered two of these lights and the second one also has issues. I’ve tried every battery i have so i def think a bad batch of lights was made.

I got my mh10 this evening, got it finally going, then snapped on the pocket clip into place and the light flashed and went off. Now I can’t get it to go back on at all, like it shorted out. There is no explanation for the lock symbol on the bottom left so I am assuming maybe that it prevents turning the light on accidentally. Hell, I don’t know. It’s so flaky
