Thorfire BL-30 Review

This is the Thorfire BL30 Bicycle light , sent for review from Thorfire. The light itself was free of charge with me paying only shipping fees of just under $6.00. That being said , I always try to give my honest opinion of the lights I review , purchased or free.

This light came very well packaged as I have come to expect from Thorfire , with the Thorfire box packed inside an Amazon box and both boxes well padded inside.
The BL30 is another nice light from Thorfire with a very bright and wide beam that covers more than enough area for any bicycle riding that may be done at night. With the included remote switch that can be mounted to the handle bars , it makes operating the light easy with only needing to move your thumb or a finger to switch modes if wanted. I had video of the light compared to my motorcycle headlight (or so I thought) and I got back home and had a black screen with audio , so that was not included. I can say though that the BL30 kind of surprised me and actually was brighter than the stock light on my motorcycle (I thought the motorcycle light was a decent light until the comparison) The BL30 has a wider and brighter beam though and shines just about as far as the motorcycle light when it is on high beam. (time for the HID upgrade on the motorcycle looks like  )

The only complaint I have of the BL30 (which is covered also in the video) is that it does get VERY hot after 5 or more minutes of use when in turbo mode. I think that a thicker LED shelf could help that matter a lot though , hopefully Thorfire will look into that.
Other than that one point I like the light and it performs well and seems to be a well built light.

Nice light and review!!! Can’t believe it’s brighter than your motorcycle light. That’s crazy. Not too surprising tho, as the light on my bike isn’t that bright either. Nor is the spread that wide. The Thorfire isn’t bad at all. Lit the hell outta that building 50yrds away. I think that’s more than enough light for someone riding a bicycle. Hell, most lights made for the flashlight enthusiasts are more than enough light for needed purposes lol

Love your tune selection by the way. Surprised YouTube ain’t bothering you about copyright infringement anymore.

Thank you for opening up the light!

i wish banggood and/or gearbest sells this.

Thanks Aspire7, glad to do the reviews always. Yes it surprised me also that the BL30 was brighter than my motorcycle light , because this one has about the best stock headlight out of all the motorcycles I have owned over the years. The copyright thing usually isn’t a problem with the music on youtube , but I did have a problem and had to completely remove the song one time , don’t even remember the reason they gave me , Owell.

Also glad to do that eebowler. I personally like to see the drivers and various parts used in a light if possible before I buy.

akoposilester ,

It is very possible that Banggood could be carrying the BL30 before all is said and done as they carry a lot of the Thorfire lights, and this IS a fairly new release.

Nice video review :+1:

Hi

All the adapters and charger do not meet BS1363 UK requirement so are illegal to sell in the UK, all are potentially dangerous.
So if sold in the UK and there was a fire or injury the seller could be held responsible.

I am just the messenger  I honestly don’t know what the plugs are supposed to look like over there or anything , as I have never been in UK or anywhere that uses the type adapters that are provided.
I will have to take your word on that part of it , but thanks for pointing it out.

Thanks DBSAR.
Not up to the “Big League” standards yet , but I learn a little more now and then as I go , so maybe I will get there one of these days.
