Argh can this topic not be on the first page please?
Makes waiting for the clear C8 so much harder, I almost checked shipping status and 17track but could refrain myself Wink

I just got my convoy c8 from gearbest and wow i am so impressed with this thing, i got the gray version the craftmanship on it feels just as good as my olight m22 for example.. and it is from what i can tell slightly brighter, thats crazy for the price to have a light this bright i doubted at first before i bought it but now i can say its gonna easy be my new fav light for a while.

Other brands are good, too, but Convoy is Convoy. Welcome to the family, son.

Does anyone know if an extension tube exists for the square threaded convoy lights? I’d love to run dual 18650 and XHP50.2 in a C8.

If it’s gray, then it’s got the old 3/5 driver in it, not biscotti.

My Convoy L6 thread with XHP70.2, Texas Avenger FET driver, Narsil v1.2 ramping firmware (old), lighted side switch and cut down SMO reflector. Lots of amp draws on stock driver as well.

My Supfire L5-S thread with XHP70.2, 26350 cells (4,100 lumen!), Texas Avenger FET driver, NarsilM v1.0 ramping firmware and lighted side switch. My mini L6!

Yep, I believe the new Biscotti Convoy driver should be red.

And of course it should go into configuration mode with 10 quick taps and have 12 mode settings to choose from.

I think if he got the silver version (If not, why post in this thread). He got gray version Facepalm . AFAIK all silver versions have biscotti firmware. What I want to know is about the biscotti firmware update (discussed previous month). Which supposedly fixed fast timing issue.

Right. I got those drivers in the mail… but they were the old version. Oops. Slight communication fail. So I haven’t tested a new version yet.

The silver-anodized S2+ is nice though, with XP-L HI and a smooth reflector for more throw. I need to get myself a stronger tool to unscrew its driver retaining ring, since it’s so tight it makes my machinist calipers bend.

Thank you for response. About S2+, do you think xp-l hi is worth in that size of reflector.

I have XP-L HI and smooth reflector bith biscotti in my S2+ and is perfect combination (imho). Throws almost as C8 with same led and driver.

In the end I put OP reflector back because it was too much throw for my use of that flashlight Smile

No, there is no extension tube for Convoy C8 but you can use 2 X 18350 setup Smile

Any chance of testing how it compares to the S2 w/ XP-L HI?

Testing S2+ with S2?
Or S2+ with C8?

That extra-throwy S2+ of yours vs. a regular S2. It’d be a good show of how much the reflector depth matters in throw distance.

Unless, of course, you don’t have an S2, since Simon doesn’t seem to be carrying them anymore (pity, really, it’s a fantastic host).

You can find some beam comparison here in this gallery of my S2+
I tried XM-L2 with SMO reflector and XP-L with OP and SMO. And XP-L HI with OP and SMO.

Ooo, purdy! LOL Stock XM-L2 with smooth reflector seems like a really sweet deal for me; for sure, it’s throwier than my S2 w/ OP reflector.

Well that’s a crying shame… Banggood sells hosts and functional ones with the old blinky drive, if you’re still interested. I have a 3×7135 right here by my side that I love to pieces.

Well shoot. I know 2× 18350 will work (or in my case 2× 16340 because that’s what I have), I was hoping to increase battery capacity though, since 2× 18350 is less than even 1× 18650. I wonder if I can open up the driver opening for one of the H1-A 20mm boost drivers.

You’ll like the clear anodized S2+ then too. Cool Coming soon to a Convoy store near you…

Edit: The S2+ even comes in a nice gift box. Wink
