I never got around to making an account here but I since I have some free time today.. :)
Hello, I'm Craig, flashlight nut(case) and student(SJSU). I also run a webshop of flashlights and various parts(unfortunately they're not very budget-ey) but I'm not going to spam that URL. none of that from me.
Spam away we can take it as long as you let us know ahead of time I don't think anyone will mind a simple link in this thread or add it to your sig line.
I'm also studying business administration - it's my second year here. I've considered MIS but at this point I just want to complete my education, get my shiney certificate and see where my own business takes me.
Craig, I think you will be spending a lot of time in the Boccardo Business Building. By the way my two favorite places to eat (in the neighborhood) were Super Taqueria and Top Dog, but I left San Jose in 2005 and I'm sure things have changed. Good luck in your studies.
Craig, I didn't notice this thread until now, but I wanted to thank you for stocking more DIY items! This will probably be my one-stop-shop for all modding needs :)
Craig is my main source for all of my Teflon wire, my drivers and my XM-Ls.
He's an awesome guy to do business with. I've never had a single issue with an order and he always ships next day (sometimes same day). He always answers any questions I have and even sends me pictures with arrows when I'm having a hard time understanding which traces to solder to :)
Whats the advantage of teflon wires? I am using silicone-insulated copper wires (from Hobbyking) and they seem to work very well (esp. in terms of wire's flexibility)
The wire that Craig sells is amazing for projects. It's silver (coated?) wire inside of a Teflon jacket. No matter how hot you get your iron, how long you hold it on the wire, or even if you touch the insulation with it, the jacketing will not melt. I like it mostly because it doesn't "shrink-back" when you put the heat to it.
You should order a foot or two and give it a try. Some people don't like it because it's hard to strip. If you have a good pair of strippers, it's not a problem. I LOVE it.
