Don't cheat, you only get to mention FOUR lights.
Lets assume that a flashoholic would have at least 10 lights in his/her collection, and see what the 10 most-voted lights are. And lets make them all under $50 except one, which you can go over on. What do you think?
My opinion
1) iTp (now Olight i3 EOS) for a keychain light
2) Trustfire Z1 for uniqueness and standard Cr123 battery
3) Shiningbeam S-Mini for all around backyard light and big rooms
4) TK41 for the over-budget light and uses AA batteries
LOL, I already changed my list...
1 AAA or AA EDC , 1 thrower , 1 flooder , 1 hands-free .
And as many duplicates as you feel necessary for peace of mind , loaners , 1 is none ,2 is one philosophy , etc .

1 Keychain light (Stainless steel)
1 thrower (Big head, small body)
1 flooder (Solarforce body+XML drop-in)
1 Warm tint flashlight (Skyray SR5 body with warm T6)
The best thing would be have different type of battery cell. For example one on AA/14500, one 3xAAA/18650...

I was looking for specific models....
Keygos KE-5 XM-L T6 - for its size it's the brightest light I know of.
Trustfire TR-1200 5X Q5 - one of the best all around lights for the money and a good 400yd thrower.
Ultrafire C8 -awesome little light with a wider hotspot than the Keygos.
Solarforce L2 with a P60 XM-L T6 dropin -awesome bright light with plenty of flood.
By the way Trooplewis , I knew you meant specific lights .
So :
ITP A3 EOS
A Solarforce 18650 host with an Ultrafire 3mode T6 dropin
A C8 type
A headlamp ( I usually clip a small light to a ballcap ).
Edit : and a Romisen 2AA light , like an RC-N3

DQG II
Zebralight SC51 or H51
L2 (new version) with a mildly (think 1.4A) driven XML
Ultrafire MCU-C88
I was tempted to have one of the XML throwers in there, but I think most people actually "need" floodier lights. The C88 is just so unique that I think it is worth having.

1-sa-r2 ss I found my gf's watch(that i gift her) when she lost it in deep night on the sea
I was more worried about my poor flashlight xD but it greatly passed the test btw immersion wasn't over 2m
2- I agree with Skyray SR5 or solarforce l2 body with warm T4/5 ( also if i have an xpg in:( )
don't have others flashlights for the list XD
Mostly.
But I do have some that take AA and D batteries.
But I'm mostly sold on the 18650 lights.
I wanted to add the Keygos KE-7 6X Q5 to the list but I only had 4 choices. And then there is the Ultrafire C8 Q5 that I got off ebay for free.

- UF-H4 headlamp (the only one in the UF-H* series that has a reflector) (16340 or 17670). I'd prefer a model that uses an 18650 but I don't know of a budget one. If someone made a model that uses an 18650, and came in NW, at a budget price, I might get two.
- The soon-to-be-updated CQG AA/14500 stainless steel light, with NW LED if available, for keychain.
- Small, and small-diameter 1x 18650 with moderately floody beam. I use an MTE M3-2 but that's probably considered old by today's standards. I hear a lot of people like the KD C8 or similar. Preferably with NW LED.
- Dry 3x XM-L with NW LEDs.

Keychain type light - ITP A3 (AAA or 10440) [can be clipped to cap for HF]
Subcompact EDC - UniqueFire G10 1-mode (AA or 14500) or equivalent with modes.
Compact EDC - UniqueFire 2100 5 mode (18650)
Thrower - TrustFire X9 5-mode (18650 or 2xCR123)
You know what's funny? I have 3 of the above in my pockets right now and it's not even 5:00pm. :)

It be a hard one ... Lets go AA
iTp A2
Nitecore D10 / D11 or equivalent Jetbeam Or Fenix
Jetbeam PA-40 or equivalent
Or AAA .
iTp A3 or N-Light B3
Solarforce L2i with low voltage drop in
So ? just depends on what battery you prefer ..
Lots of folks just stick to AA , and the AA lights are good , and the number of options are growing ..
If I had to start from scratch , Id start with my AA listed lights , and see where I went from there .

A good P60 host like Solarforce L2T with XP-G or XM-L LED
Cheap keychain light (<$7 for 10 variety)
Well for the pocket AA my D10 is over budget so maybe the ShiningBeam I-mini
Zebralight H51w is a must, headlamps are mant times more useful than torches. This one can be used as both.
