MH27 and Klarus G30 quit after four months, Banggood's service

My Nitecore MH27 died in July( three months old)- flickered after 4-5 minutes of use, went out (on medium, with charged battery)- Now only the blue indicators on buttons light when a battery inserted. After the usual loop jumping email exchanges with Banggood ( pic of packaging, “check that tailcap tight, battery is charged”, then video of problem, etc) they decided ” since you had so long we can’t determine if defect or user damage, offer partial refund” Refund left me with eleven bucks net loss
It appears Banggood handles warranty issues like a tire dealer; prorated for tread wear/time?
Just settled that when my G30 died two weeks ago; ( four months old) I had used it 4-5 times, no more than 10 minutes run time. Ran fine, next time I tried it, nothing. Same loop routine with Banggood, last week they said ” they would get parts? from supplier, can you fix light? ” today memo stating ” supplier told me they can not resend us a new light for the high cost. Would you like us to refund you 50% of this flashlight? Because we can not make sure if it was the wrong operation to it then caused the defective. And the order was too old. Also I do not suggest return it, the payment will be higher than the price.”
It appears the customer is “presumed guilty” under warranty service, and again, that tire warranty method- four months=50% tread wear.
Does anyone know of better warranty option on the Klarus.? and is there a fix I can do on either light to get operating again.?

Banggood offered me nothing when my BLF A6 died after five months so you got lucky. Even Gearbest are easier to deal with when it comes to problems than Banggood are.

When buying from china one accepts that

1. Warranty beyond paypal dispute time is null and void.
2. There is always a chance you will lose your money. So don’t spend more than you are willing to lose

If it is any consolation, I bought a Sunwayman M40 XML U2 from WorldZone on ebay UK. After some months it died. WorldZone did not even reply to my emails.

SWM did reply to an email, and promptly repaired the light, albeit after I paid to send the light to them. There was no charge for the return. BG will be operating on minimal profit I assume and issues such as warranty are secondary, given the impossibility of chasing them for the money if they do not voluntarily cough up. Caveat emptor. If you want quality service, deal with a respected dealer in your country, and pony up the readies.

When my solarstorm T4 partially died and I asked BG who to contact for repair directly to Solarstorm, they simply let me know no place for me to return the light. They refunded me few bucks. The pretty host now sit useless.

Yes, that’s the downside of buying budget lights from Chinese vendors. I had a problem with my lumintop pen light. I contacted GB and then lumintop and both didn’t offer to help or get a resolution. They kept asking me the same question over and over until I just gave up. Luckily people on BFL mod their lights and can fix it themselves. I really don’t know how or have the tools. Yes, Klarus is known for not responding to their customers when their products fail. I have the G30 and G20 and that’s it for me, no more Klarus lights. Until I hear that they are helping their customers, then I will consider buying more of their lights. That is why I like Olight. One of their lights was giving me problems and I contacted Olight and they sent me a new one with out much drama. Now that’s service!

You should buy Klarus lights from FlashlightZ.com. We are a US Distributor and we treat our customers like gold. It’s the most important thing we focus on in the business. Also, if anyone purchased a Klarus light from someone else and is having a hard time getting in touch with Klarus, let us know and we can try to help out. Thanks!

We are new to the BLF so if you have trouble getting in touch with us on here, please contact us from here: FlashlightZ

Karus having much problems?

I was planning to buy the g30, with Freeme coupon the price drops alot and I almost pulledthe trigger :zipper_mouth_face:

Isn’t the deadline for filing disputes with ebay/PayPal SIX (6) months? If so, why not file a dispute in this case?

would be interested to know about paypal dispute on this.

Your situation is unfortunate, but I don’t see banggood claiming to be an authorized retailer or mentioning a warranty. These are probably some of the reasons they can sell these products cheaper than many other retailers. I don’t see them having an obligation to give you anything.

If you want a warranty, buy from an authorized dealer.

In my experiences with PP disputes, PP does not wait for the 6 months to elapse before deciding on a case. That 6 months is l believe the max amount of time before you can no longer file a dispute . Once a claim is received, they immediately act on it, with specific instructions, according to your case. I once filed a dispute with them on scam in Amazon ( too good to be true Nitecore, which was also discussed here in BLF ) and l was refunded in two days. They treat each claim according to the merits of your case.

You just confirmed about the 6 months limit. I don’t think OP filed a dispute with PP, only directly with BG, thus OP is still within the 6 months limit with PP.

[EDIT]
From a PP payment statement:

Issues with this transaction?
You have 180 days from the date of the transaction to open a dispute in the Resolution Center.

If that’s the case, they should warn their customers about it. If they are only willing to honor their warranty from only “Authorised retailers” the torch manufacturer should make it clear as well. Also, why do they let anyone sell their products if they won’t honor their warranty? If that’s the case, they should make two versions of the same product that will honor their warranty and one that won’t. That way there won’t be any confusion.

Losing just $11 is not such a bad deal. Had they offered a repair you’d lost more on shipping.

And indeed withing 6 months and after trying cs you can communicate via PayPal.

I have emailed swm several times but got no response. Could you give me the email address you used?

Nitecore makes it clear you must purchase from an authorized dealer.

The wording Klarus uses is slightly less definitive, but they certainly insinuate having a bad time if you don’t buy from an authorized dealer.

The standard across all industries has been for the consumer to choose to buy from an authorized dealer rather than expecting a manufacture to make certain their products are only sold by authorized dealers. The manufactures aren’t necessarily directly supplying retailers like banggood, and it would be impossible to shut down every chinese/ebay store that isn’t authorized.

I certainly have sympathy for your situation, but I think what you got from banggood was fair.

Their customer service email address is as follows: cs@sunwayman.com

I was very polite with them, and found them to be very responsive, I hope you get your problem sorted. I am a bit of a SWM fan, the lights I have are the best I own in terms of build and performance.

Great thanks and away for attempt 11

That doesn’t make sense to me, so in a way are they insinuating that BG and GB are selling counterfeited torches? The company controls who they sell their product to and have direct contact with th GB and BG. If that’s the way that nitecore and Klarus are conducting business, they have certainly lost me as a customer. To me that’s seems deceiving from both sides(torch manufacturer and the vendor). New customers that buy from GB and BG are under the assumption that these are authentic nitecore and klarus products. I am assuming this as well, but if this is the way they are doing business, I will steer away from them.

I already expect bad service from BG and GB, but not from the manufacturer. Well this stinks…

Luckily I have not had any problems with my G30, but it’s a different story for the OP. The price might be too good to pass up, but if you get a defective one, you will haveba bad time. Apparently BG and GB don’t seem to be authorised dealers for GB and BG.
