Test/review of Japcell Lithium AA

Japcell Lithium AA

Official specifications:

  • Nominal voltage: 1.5V (The voltage is considerable higher than 1.5V alkaline)

  • Max. continuous discharge current: 2000mA

  • Max. pulse discharge current: 3000mA

  • Nominal capacity: 3000mAh

  • Working temperature:–40°C ~ 60°C

  • Weight: 14.5g

  • Lithium content: 0.98g

A lithium AA cell, this type of cell has much better performance than alkaline at high current or low temperature.

The 10X longer than alkaline is not correct for normal usage.

The cell maintains high capacity and a fairly high voltage up to about 1A current draw.

Conclusion

This cell has much better performance than alkaline cells, except at low current, but it is slightly behind the top performing lithium cell.

How is the test done and how to read the charts
Compare to other AA/AAA batteries: Alkaline/NiMH/Lithium

Thanks for the test HKJ!

So, what IS the top performing lithium AA cell?

Probably the one with the bunny on it. Since they now make the claim right on the package. Worlds longest lasting

The best one I have seen is the energizer, as you can easily see in my comparator:

Alkaline & lithium is at the bottom of the list.

Have you tested the new energizer lithium? They updated the battery a few months back. Has a couple more hundred mah I believe from a basic discharge test someone ran. I’d like to see the changes on your precise equipment. The packages with the new updated batteries say. Now worlds longest lasting lithium. I believe the guy said the constant and pulse ratings increased as well on this new version

There is another brand battery junction sells powerizer don’t know if you’ve tested those yet or not.

No, I am not sure they have arrived in Denmark yet.

Buying in USA is way to expensive due to shipping

Thanks guys! And, thank you HKJ for doing all this testing!
