whats wrong with this driver?

i have the ak 47c driver from dx installed in my l2i. it sometimes doesn't cycle through the modes smoothly. it will go low, low, med, hi, strobe, sos/ low, med, strobe, dim flash/ low, dim flash and cut off, ect. while getting frustrated with the driver and not watching what i was doing, i installed the reflector back on without the isolation disk which caused a short across the emitter and caused the light to act funny. the emitter wasn't damaged but did i mess up the driver? it seems to act this way all the time now. did this cause a short on the battery which may have fried the tailswitch just enough to cause this issue?

thanks,

monty

This is an easy fix, it has happened to me before. Remove the solder from the mode selection star and resolder the star better and you should be good.

i don't have any of the stars bridged. it has been left alone to have all modes. maybe i should bridge it so that i have just high and low and see if that clears it up. i was afraid that i accidentally flowed solder from the neg contact point to one of the legs on the chip right next to it. my dmm shows there is a connection there. maybe i should start over but i don't have a desolder tool.
