The Rayovac beast uses a lens like this. It uses an mkr or another 4 die led but the beam is flawless

I cut one of the MT lenses down and installed it into an S2 XML HI with a smooth reflector… the beam is perfect. I think it may have a little more diffusion since the lens is closer to the source, but still much more like a perfect beam pattern from a smooth reflector. There is still a gain in throw vs the stock lens and a big beam improvement.

I have an order arriving in a few days pre-cut to the S2 dimension (1.5mm x 20.4mm).

I also ordered a few for the C8 just to see what it will do. I still think the C8 size will be too expensive, but I want to try it anyway… I have a C8 that could use some help.

These will not be available as a separate item on my website, so, if you’re interested in buying some of either the Solarforce P60 size or the S2/S2+ size, please PM me (ConUS only). I will have the piece cost later tonight.

I will make these available for individual purchase for about a week,

correction: anywhere I can mail a first class envelope with up to 3 stamps.
The rule is ‘if it’s anything other than documents, a customs declaration is required’
A few of these lenses in an envelope should mail okay as a document

Pricing for the MT lens is as follows:

29.45mm + o-ring (Solarforce P60 only) $4.50
Per order add: $1 for US or $2 for international
Limit 5 lenses so the lenses will mail in a First Class envelope

PM me for payment instructions.

Finally had some time to test this lens, I used a Eagle Eye A6 with : Nichia 219C D320 5000K, BLF A6 driver, SMO convoy reflector.

Standard EE A6 lens

MT lens

I really like this lens, it makes the beam softer in a subtle way, I find it much more pleasing to look at.

Thank you for making this available.

If you’ve received the Micro-Textured lens and have tried it, please post any comments you have about it.
I’m trying to decide it this will replace my AR lens for the P60 drop ins or just have it as another option (opinions?). All of my personal P60s now have the MT lens it’s the only lens for me.
I’ve also tried it in a C8 and I really like the results.

I’ve had a few more requests for the lenses, so if you’re interested, Sunday 11/20 will be the last day to request them through BLF. After that, they will be available on my website, but only as an option with a flashlight or drop in.

I think they are great. It’s not a night and day difference to me, but it is a noticeable improvement with no downside imo.

I’ll take 2 for the s2. Can these be filed down to smaller size?

I have notices in a SMO P60 with a Nichia led that this is like a night and day difference. I have also installed on in a SMO S2+ with and XP-L HI and OMG it makes the beam so perfect! I am going to have to order more of these.

This is a wonderful product!

Mine arrived today. The drop-in I added it to didn’t have any major artifacts, but it still did a nice job of smoothing out the beam. Very nice lens.

Pflexpro thanks for offering it!

This would be a great Lens for the Q8 Flashlight. At the moment i can not find the dimensions. But if the price is right there is much potetial for a big sale (~ 800 people are on the interest list). Because at the moment they are using a plain glass lend without any coating.

The price for a big light like Q8 would be more than the light itself

How could I have missed this innovative lens?
What sizes are possible?
Could this be a aftermarket lens for the Q8?

I am not sure about that!
A ~30mm lens cost 4,5$. I do not have the exact dimensions but it has to be somthing about ~47mm+- a few mm.
Sure it will not be for 5$ but I’m pretty sure it will not cost 40$.
And if its in the 10-15$ range i would be definitely interested.
Hope that i can get the exact dimensions soon.

For the Q8, could someone provide the lens dimensions. The only thickness I currently have the Micro-Textured AR material in is 1.5mm, but this thickness may be suitable for cutting a few for evaluation in the Q8.
(I have a few sheets of the MicroTextured-AR 1.5mm coated but uncut.)

The Q8 probably uses a 2mm lens… I will be getting a quote for a few sheets of the 2mm material AR coated an cut to C8 size.

Does the Q8 need the MT-AR lens to clean up the beam or does it just need an AR lens? The plain AR will be easier and less expensive.

The only existing Q8 prototype has a lens size of 55.1 mm x 2.81 mm, but of course doesn't have to be an exact size replacement. No guarantee the eventual production unit will have the same lens size. We requested a width of 2.25 mm but it didn't happen.

I was interested in the Micro-Texture to smoth out the beam from the 4 LED´s.
The AR coating would be a nice thing to have but for me the Micro-Texture is far more interesting.
But the final price will tell if it is something worth to consider

Got my lenses in a couple of days ago but just had time to install one. These are great. Its not a huge difference and probably wouldn’t clean up a truly terrible beam, but for the lights I put it in the lenses gave a very pleasing softening affect to the beams. I’d buy a bunch of these if you made them available in different sizes.

Speaking of which, I’d like to request one for my ReyLight Pineapple. I really like this little light but the “stepped” reflector makes for a distracting ring in the spill. I feel like one of these microtextured lenses would fix it right up, or at least help a lot. Seriously I want to buy one for my Pineapple. Hit me with a price and I will pay it! I bet others would too. Let me know if you need the dimensions. Smile

I’d buy a Pineapple lens as well.

+1 - me too for my Pineapple. I've added a trit, so why not a top of the line lens? I'm sure he'll need dimensions.

Custom sized Micro Textured lens:
If there is enough interest in custom sizes, I will have 1 or 2 sheets cut into any size you want. The only material I have available is 1.5mm thick… I should have some 2mm in a few months.

You will be able to specify your size for as few as 1 lens or as many a 1 gazillion lenses, but remember, it will be 1.5mm thick.

It looks like the Pineapple uses a 1mm lens, so someone will need to decide if the 1.5mm will work properly.
A C8 usually has a 2mm lens, but the thinner 1.5mm doesn’t seem to be a problem.
For Surefire 6P, the diameter should be 28.2 -if you request a 28.2, I will include the o-ring I use when installing the 1.5mm lens in a 6P.

If you want the lens for Solarforce (29.45mm) or the S2/S2+ (20.4mm), do not request them as a custom… I have them available and they are cheaper because I had them cut in mass.

The cost will be a little higher for the custom cutting and possible lower material yield. When I have the lenses cut, it’s always 1 size per sheet.
When specifying your size, measure the diameter in mm and specify to .1mm. (i.e. 28.2mm). I will have the lenses cut as ‘not to exceed’, so the final dimension may be slightly smaller.
I have devised a formula that will allow you to price out your lenses (use mm for the radius): 2+((πr²)*.0075)=$ plus $1 per order ConUS – plus $2 per order international.

Big lenses will be expensive and I don’t recommend it for anything larger than a C8. With that said, I’m going to have one cut for my L2… I like what it did for my C8 so much, I just have to try it.

So, who’s interested?
It will take at least 75 lenses to make a custom run feasible, so let me know who’s interested.
