In a predicament, have to sell some lights* ALL SOLD THANK YOU! *

Hey flashaholic fambly!

I’ve gotten myself in a bit of a predicament (Volkswagen helped me!) and will have to sell off some flashlights from my collection. I’m asking here about interest, as in what type of light might be wanted most and whether or not to include the cells inside. As y’all know, I have a thing for modding. I have a thing for pushing the limits, reducing restrictions to get the most from a light. That said, the vast majority of my lights are tweaked in this fashion. I tend to build em, test em, and put em on the shelf where they collect dust. lol There are a few I use on a semi-regular basis and those I’ll be keeping, but I should be able to sort out some 100 lights to sell in order to keep my wife from moidarizing me over our recent car purchase. (yes, I jumped the gun. we will be participating in the VW buy-back program but that might drag out further than anticipated and I’ve already bought a new Toyota Camry, so we have double the car payments and double insurance in the interim! Yikes!)

Virtually all of the lights I will list are in like new condition, built and tested then shelved. On occasion, a name brand light is glued and may take extreme measures to break into which might result in a bit of a scratch or chuck mark from my lathe. (I have found that mounting the light in the big 5” jaws with an aluminum sleeve between the light and the steel works wondrously, nothing can stand up to it, even Red Loctite)

My plan is to essentially try to recover actual costs of these lights, not make a profit on them. As such, pricing will reflect the cost of the light and cost of the materials to modify it. (mostly, probably less in 99% of these… meaning I’m more willing to take a bit of a hit just to recover some of the monies spent, so I can keep my car!)

If y’all show me here that this will go over well, I’ll get busy and photograph, test, and list the lights I will be tearing from their place in my soul. Silly

Thanks for your help, really appreciate your input and the kindness shown on this forum.

Too bad shipping to Europe is so expensive from the US…would possibly be interested in buying a modded hot rod since I’m not able to mod myself…

I will probably sell 2 Olight Javelot series, an M3XS with side switch and an M3 Triton with MT-G2. Probably the Fenix TK75 as well, it’s making some 4200 lumens with domes on the XM-L2’s and has a nice throw, especially for a triple. I don’t have a lot of larger lights, leaning towards single 18650 or even smaller. So the majority will be pocketable lights with large output. (I tend to like the surprise factor, seeing the look on someone’s face when they see a small light make big light output)

All of my ~170 lights have cells in them, standing by waiting to be used. I really don’t need to keep the cells and have 100 plus extra cells around, these cells have been used to test the lights but in virtually every case, not used since then with a rare exception to a short walk.

Probably the longest throw of a light I’ll sell is the L6 with de-domed XP-G2 and Buck driver from Richard, at some 439Kcd. With the big TN42 a keeper, I don’t really need anything else in the throw dept. (I’ll probably keep my modified M2X-UT Javelot, cause it’s so small)

The plan is to put all my lights on the table, sort out what I just can’t part with, then go from there.

I do have a couple of XHP-35 lights I built, and the big BTU Shocker with XHP-70’s and large TIR’s glued into the reflector cups to smooth the beam, that one makes some 12-14,000 lumens, depending on cells/carrier used. Wink

Edit: I think I’ll also sell the behemoth Nitecore TM36 Lite with it’s SBT-70. Even at “steal prices” it won’t exactly be cheap as they’re very proud of these.

I am lucky enough to currently own one Dale light, and I’ve been needing (wanting) another for a while now. I am definitely interested in bright (which is a given) single 18650 lights, throwy, triples, quads, even single emitter. Whatever I can afford I’d get, maybe a few of them.

I might be interested in small e-switch lights. Ideal would be modded or not, if modded, maybe not modded up with latest/greatest - I could always to that myself.. It might help you out. I'll wait and see what you got.

Dale, Congratulations.

What I mean by that is buying two new cars is not exactly reason to feel bad for you Smile

most folks all like the same stuff.

my suggestion if of course separate out the lights you will be keeping (more expensive lights bring in more money, not exactly a secret) Facepalm

From there we will all want to see photos (at least one) it is hard to memorize/visualize other folks inventory.

Maybe group them by use EDC (maybe singles and multi are two different threads?), Thrower, Flood, Hot Rod and make a thread for each type.

As far as pricing goes put a price and best offer (of course I want you to net as much as possible but folks want deals (its just a fact))

From there you will see where the real demand is: after the initial snapping up of the high cool/$$$ ratio lights (in the buyers mind) then you can see what you want to do with the slower moving items (hopefully you will get cleaned out, but just in case it wont be a surprise)

.02 worth

oh ya I want a deal on a way cool MT-G2 Wink

things would be a lot more complicated than they already are.”

I’m gonna have to double my estimates after that ordeal listing those! Geesh! This forums formatting really messes with a guy! lol

I’ll get some prices in there as soon as I can figure it out… sorry for the hassle.

Hey Dale,

I’m after a new ‘barn burner’.

Have you got anything in the 12-14,000 lumen range?
