So far best solution for me, like Kawi did with his, a dedomed XHP35HD.

How hard is dedoming on 35HD E4 1A,and what’s the best method?

Although i don’t have much experience with dedoming XHP35 leds ( ive done only one), i find that nitro paint thinner works very good, at least in my case.

It removed the dome completely without any leftovers what so ever. Someone, cant recall tho who was (Kawi or TA) said that cleaning the remaining phosphor on the side of the die will also help for better looking beam.

GOOF-OFF works good if it’s available! Just try and cut right above the wires and then soak it in the goof-off. I have had success using this and letting it sit over night. Just make sure you use a small glass container. It will eat plastic material Wink

Just got my tracking number. So should be here this week.

As I’m part of the team I was supposed to get the GT a bit earlier but for some reasons it was delayed.
I can’t say if my shipment is part of a larger shipment to the EU or if it’s a separate shipment just for me.

But Europe without batteries, as it seems, I ordered with batteries, so I will have to wait a bit longer, as it seems.

Is your GT sent with DHL or registered? And did you order the batteries also?

This is another point, the concentrated beam of the GT could also effect the way the light bounced and cause less light to reflect at all, skewing your readings further.

Basically the LED in the GT is driven as hard as is practical for a production light, harder then most other lights, including the tn42 (it is driven at 2.25A IIRC). So you won’t get much more out of another LED, I wish we could. The only real improvement is going with an E2 bin LED for a 7% improvement. Which we could not source for the GT due to a shortage of NW E2 LED’s.

That makes sense to me. Thanks. I found it impressive that i still hit 1.2 million cd even with a NW emitter. I wonder what it would read with a led closer to cool white. my meter is crazy bias to cool white leds for measuring throw. but i LOVE the NW emitter so ill leave it as is. That is till i can get a CFT 90 in there. 5000 lumens and 1.6 ish million cd sounds amazing(just a guess). it wont be cheap but if a driver can be made for it to drive it to its max potential im all in.

What would be the cost of such a mod?

I’ve not yet had tracking so yeah, EU seems like a false alarm unfortunately.

I know a manager at DHL. He told me all packets from China are charged with extra costs, it’s company policy..... but they are fast, and that’s also worth some money

UPDATES: It appears that the first shipment went out by region instead of the exact order in which we paid for cost reasons. Initial quality has been fantastic.

The first shipment of lights (168 total) shipped on Dec 23. This was a pallet going to the USA from the first 576th person on the paid list that did not include batteries. Tracking numbers went out on Dec 27 and lights started arriving to customers on Dec 29th. DHL shipping was very fast.

There should be a European order going out in January.

The next group to purchase lights (#1000 and up on the list) will get their emails mid January instead of early January in order to let Neal get caught up with current orders.

It’s always the latest. Updated 2 or 3 times a day assuming there is any new news.

It is generally pretty hard to change the owner of a post, I know when I used to admin a few sites we tried it a few times but always seemed to cause more harm then good. But then this site is custom made, so maybe it is not so bad.

No harm in asking I suppose.

For a driver you need a typical “single” cell fet driver , and carriers modded to 4P . These would cost 20$ to 50$ …

Please ask and make a try.
First I would delete all old version of the post and maybe other related data. Then I would change the owner/creator.
