Jason I have already received my light since i was in the first group and didn’t get batteries. I think the guys in the first group are a little bit annoyed because they (we) put in a down payment to prove to Lumintop that there would be enough interest in this huge and expensive light to make it in the first place. Without those payments Lumintop may well have not jumped on board with the project. This happened several months before there was
A timeline for completion, and we took it on faith to trust Neal, blf team, and Lumintop to deliver, and boy did they deliver!! It could have went the other way
Maybe we can add a disclaimer to all group buys stating that the seller will try their best to give early sign ups prefered shipping, but it can’t be guaranteed. Lol
This is still better than the Q8 GB in which everyone got to buy at the same time. First come first served.

Texas Ace Lumen Tube calibrated with Maukka lights
Correct. What I was referring to and forgot to be clear, was the ability to illuminate targets for human eyes at distance under real life conditions, as is the primary purpose of a so called thrower, in most people’s opinion.
With these defining details it becomes fact instead of opinion.
Quote:
“better” will depend on what someone prefers.
Just like 10k lumens and 100m throw isn’t better than 100 lumens and 10km throw, it completely depends on what the person wants.
I will also point out that a lot of people who tested/bought the GT mentioned how much everyone they showed it to was amazed by the beam, including themselves.
Correct. As a lightsaber, the higher color temperature version would most likely be “better”. Or “mo’ betta”.

I think you are being overly critical. I don’t see where anyone has asked for “another blue light for mindless consumers”.
Not at all overly critical, just exaggerating a bit. Keeping in mind what this was in response to, not exaggerating too much, I think.

Sounds familiar to me. I guess many agree, including this user:

Both are somewhat neutral.
I never got the feeling that LuminousIgnis was trying to set up an attack on Spartan16 by asking what lights they have. If anything it could offer some insight into what tints and temperatures they have personally experienced.
I did..! Very much so..!
Oh yeah… it was obvious.

I know I read this quite a while ago but is everyone in the first 1500 getting one light before those that bought 2 get their second? And then everyone who bought two, gets their second before those that bought 3, get their third. And so on and so on?
No, only the first 555 got single lights due to the special low price. Then from 555 and up you can get your 2nd, 3rd, etc…
Just want to be sure I understand what you said above. Are you saying that those who ordered multiple lights at the same time and are above #555 would theoretically get all the lights they ordered at the same time/same shipment?
Based on that, I am 818, 819 and 886. Should I have maybe got two – the 818 and 819 today instead of 1? And maybe the third, 886 is waiting on the reflector backlog? Seems kind of strange if multiple orders over List #555 are supposed to ship at the same time. This coupled with the light arriving in only the inner box gets me to thinking that maybe something has happened to the rest of my shipment in transition from DHL to USPS?
I expect that’s directed at me.. no this isn’t about trolling.. it’s about changes to the GT which me (and I presume others) were not aware of, and which potentially may well be a deal breaker based on expectations set prior to ordering.
Ask before accusing.
Guess you smell it too. Cause I didn’t post anywhere near you.
You know darn well that you directed that at me… the timing and way in which you ‘entered’ discussions tonight… quit playing games and at least be upfront about who your abuse is directed at.
fine. I think you’re trolling. Hold your “opinion “ till you get your light. If you hate it, send it to me.
Just curious what hes going to compare his newly aquired BLF GT too, why is that so hard to answer?
Oh, it seemed like you were going to criticize him if he didn’t have many flashlights, or didn’t have any warm white flashlights, or something like that.
What do I have to gain from critizing an unknown individual on an online enthusiast flashlight forum that I will never meet IRL? Nothing, If he wants to be ignorant and accuse me of something that was never my intention then so be it. Sorry.

Well you’re wrong.. and I resent the accusation..! I’m not here to cause problems, though it’s comments such as yours which add credence to the idea that I am – thank you very much..!! Had you read my original post and following comments you would have seen that I was tabling a valid concern.

Oh yeah I would surely say ““this user agrees”“ …
I was not referring to a camera or video however. I was referring to what I can see in person.

Bringing very little and producing a two-digit amount of posts, acting stone deaf to elaborate well explained answers and seeking argument no matter what, is not very nice.
I wonder what’s the warranty period of The GT since it has driven the led that hard. I hope it is put shorter than 3 months so that newbies won’t buy it and complain later. Sure that there are flashlights drive led very hard too, but they are with much higher price.
Is the warranty claim considered in price equation for The GT?
Spartan, I have much experience in building throwers, as much as anyone here. I like a cooler white in my throwers, and I didn’t keep the 4000K emitter in my GT for more than a few hours. As soon as I managed to break into the GT the emitter was swapped.
I have another GT in hand now, I wasn’t planning on opening it up as I intend to gift it, but I will open it and put one carrier in each light, using the same cells of which I have 8 matched. I will then attempt the same 1.9 mile beam shot at the water tower that I did last night and see if the warm 4000K hits the tower as well, better, or less than the cool white I swapped into my first GT. I will then report back soon after the test, tomorrow evening. With beam shots.
If the warm orange spot I saw in my first one doesn’t illuminate the tower to my satisfaction I will be swapping it out in the second GT before gifting occurs next month. Regardless of how the test comes out, I will not be using the 4000K in my personal light. I detest the color. Pure and simple.
ARSee, press the end of the bezel against a car tire (remove stones first in the treads) and use the tire to grip the bezel so you can twist it off. Worked for me.

On the user manual included with the GT, it mentions a Momentary mode. Is this a mistake or am I reading over it on how to get into in?

Wrong. Seated shoulder press with The GT in squat rack is more appropriate.
