Budget multi function folding knife ?

Hi there,

I’m looking for a folding knife which would have :

- flat screwdriver

- cross scredriver

- blade length about 7 cm (about 2 and 3/4 inches), not smaller. Slightly larger (3in) is ok.

- locking system

  • about10 bucks shipped

I used to have a Sanrenmu knife which had flat scredriver and wire cutter (but I can do without it), but I lost it, and don’t remember the reference number. I looked around but I guess it is discontinued, didn’t see it anywhere. Also, it lacked a cross screwdriver.

Something like a SRM 710 with screwdrivers, in short. NOT a multitool like Gerber or Leatherman stuff.

Would you have any recommendations please ?

Used or TSA confiscated Swiss army Victorinox or Wenger knives can be had for about that much but they don’t generally “lock”.
There are locking Swiss army knives but I don’t think I’ve seen one with a Phillips (cross) head driver.

I picked up two “climber” models, one red and one black for about $16 last month from Ebay.

Not sure if this will work for you but I love this size/style.

not 10 but has what you asked for

Damn…now I have another knife to buy

With flat and cross screwdriver is difficult in the budget world, well perhaps a victorinox copy for 10$ or less, but with a quality brand… Sanrenmu normally does not put a cross screwdriver, but that 7098 has it, but costs something more than 10$. Perhaps it is the nearest thing for you want.
Or a real victorinox of course.
You can see budget multitool like the ganzo g101s too, about 6$.

The SRM 7098 has a quite pretty blade finish too:

Thanks everyone for your answers !
Victorinox has nice items indeed, but overpriced for me.
I had noticed the SRM 7089 but it seems it does not have a lock. In fact most of the SRM knives with other functions (screwdriver) do not lock.
The 7098 has one (or at least, the one posted here, since there are multiple versions and some only have a slip joint). Unfortunatly, it also has a saw, which I really do not need, and adds extra weight and thickness.
I am not a big fan of the blade shape either, but for the time being this seems the best proposition.
Is Daicamping a reliable site ? Anyone ordered at their site ? Not only is it a lil bit cheaper, but also I had bad shopping experiences with GB and I’d rather not order at them. Also the 7098 comes in blue there, and I have no blue knife…yet

edit : oh sh…t I just saw that the GB and Daicamping are not the same versions (T5 vs T4. Daicamping has no lock

Do GB and spend the dollar on shipping/tracking. It makes a difference even if it’s only that you can see the package steadily coming your way.

I think you’re right. Also, I saw that Daicamping sells the lock version, but not in blue.

As i know, the lue 7098 t5 from gearbest is with lock on both blades. And all lue 7098 t5 must be equals, with both locks.

Yeah, but it also comes with a saw, which I do not need/want.
For that reason, I haven’t ordered yet. Other reason is that in the meantime I have ordered other knives (another G727, CF G753, Y-Start 2) and I must go gentle on the WAF Factor

I have it the lue 7098 t5 and i like a lot. The saw with lock is not easy to find in a tool.
