Due to low interest and the large amount of time hand building these items takes I do not plan to make any more of these Drivers by hand. I do have some raw parts left for you to build your own items though!

All prices are + shipping, generally $2.80 per package in the USA. Shipping is a flat $2.80 for up to 4oz, then $4 for up to 8oz and finally $5 for up to 1lb. Basically for most people it will be $2.80 shipping in the USA.

For international shipping it is sadly much more expensive. I can send it via regular mail without tracking but be aware, there are positively no guaranties with this method and I do not like shipping like this due to that. This option runs about $3 to most countries. With tracking it is generally about $13 to most countries. Contact me for an exact quote.

8 - Skyray kind multi-cell tailcap PCB with optional fuses, this works with the above driver to setup the light for 2s or 4s operation along with the possibility of using a tailcap clicky switch among other things.

These are the raw parts kits for building the lighted tailcaps. I ordered enough parts to build 100 of them but have only built 25 or so. Thus I have a few to sell lol.

I am sold out of the PCB’s, plus you need to get the right sized PCB’s for your tailcap anyways (I generally use the 5.1/5.3 combo). So these will need to be ordered separately from oshpark. The details are all in the above thread.

FET+1 SRK V2 Driver:


Convoy S2+ “Tactical Combat” ring. I got requests for these from some local cops and they work quite nicely actually. It allows you to have a “cigar hold” on a Convoy s2+. To install it simply presses down over the back of the light and the tailcap screw down “into it”.

It is a tight fit to ensure it doesn’t come loose so expect a bit or resistance when pressing it on. Also it will only go one way, the tailcap is slightly larger then the body, so test fit it to the tailcap first in order to see which side needs to face the tailcap.

Prices are going to be between $15-$20 for these depending on how many and what size they are.

17mm I think I have cut the time down enough to make $15-16 doable, the larger drivers will need to be a bit more unless there is a larger demand for them then I figured.

I am still in the first batch of these and after these are sold I can reevaluate things to see what kind of price points are viable long term.

Takes a LOT of time to make these. Even in batches it is 30-40 minutes per driver from start to finish.

What do you mean by “can freak out with multi-LED setups”? I want to use 17mm Tripledown Drivers on my triple led flashlight, what problems should I expect using this driver?

Really want to try out one of the full featured 17mm with SIR800DP MOSFET’s. This would broaden the feature set of my Ti Quad that I EDC and give me a more accurate voltage monitor arrangement. I’m currently using the A6 firmware due to the instabilities in Bistro with a Quad.

If I could buy one from you to try out, that would be helpful. Then I’d know how many boards and components to attach myself to. :wink:

Really good prices for the populated TA17 drivers. Can confirm, it takes quite a while to hand build them :wink:

The tripledown (which is was the best design and components available at the time for the record) does not have the latest components (as it lists in the quote). These components were added to the drivers to deal with large voltage spikes that happen with high currents. These voltage spikes can cause the MCU to freak out and do strange things.

Generally I find it will simply shut down with triple setups when it tries to engage the FET although other odd things happen as well like going into programming mode among other things. You never know what will happen with voltage spikes like that.

I have tripledowns in lots of single emitter lights with the only issue being a small flash when changing modes in some cases. In all the triple builds I have tried though they freak out.

I have actually been putting together a little goodie bag for you to try out, I was gonna wait until I got another item done to send it out but not sure when the parts for it will be in. Got orders out everywhere and I don’t even remember half of them until they show up lol.

It was an early issue with Bistro, getting Turbo to run reliably. There were issues with the components used on the driver that caused the MCU to shift down to moon or low when trying to go into Turbo, even on a single emitter set-up. The release came out with the lights working, for the most part, but shifting to a triple flared up the issue again.

I use A6 firmware in my Quad’s because of this, as much as I’d prefer Bistro it’s just finicky to get everything working right with correct timings.

The Texas Avenger series promises to correct this, Del scoped out the issues and proper components were sourced, added, removed, relocated, tweaked, hammered and shellacqued. :wink:

I wish soft start were still in play as I liked that feature, it was an instant giveaway that Bistro was in progress…

Yeah, when you build them for yourself you don’t really notice the time it takes but when I started actually timing the process I was quite surprised to find it was taking over an hour for each driver at first.

By building them in batches and buying/making some jigs plus some experience I have cut the time down to 30-40 minutes now. So basically I am making just over minium wage on these lol.

Indeed, I have had no such issues with the Texas Avenger drivers even with triple XP-G3 lights (of which I plan to sell a few soon) running 16+ amps. The new components list by DEL truly make the drivers rock solid stable in my testing.

I also like the soft start, This is one of the features I want to add back into it if/when TK ever has time to implement the compacted code. It is simply out of space right now.

With the space gains she mentioned possible soft start, 31 mode groups, a larger ramp table and a few more fun strobe modes should all fit.

Although for those like yourself another possibility is to use a tiny85 instead of the 25 and then you will have plenty of room for everything you could dream of.

I suppose I could release a version of the firmware with less mode groups and soft start enabled. Hmm, something to think about.

I really love the 7 mode with reversing into hidden modes. Might would play with some crazy strobes on occasion but my memory makes it difficult to do that kind of thing, so a very elaborate firmware table is lost on me. I’ll set it and forget it.

I’ll take one 17mm TA with sir 800 FET and one SRK driver.
