Hmm, maybe I misinterpreted the picture. I’ve read the extremely protruding switches of the first versions will be replaced by much flater ones and it looked like those are more flat. The perspective could be misleading.

What is new on these Switches? I´ve got one of the first MT07 and my Switch is the same.

Robert

The MT03 has a new switch and metal plate with four screws; check it out on the website. I have not seen changes on the MT07.

Yes, sort of IMO, but since I was actually the guy who originally came up with the shoe lace saying, it was mentioned in my post when I first got my lights because when I opened the box I was stunned, yours I would consider quit a step up from what I got and my mention of a shoe lace was because I honestly thought it was A Shoe Lace,
I wasn’t trying to be funny one bit, I actually looked under the foam thing thinking there would be a lanyard or something, but not even an extra O ring, my lights, both, looked like they had been used and just put in the box and shipped,
This is exactly what I saw when I opened my MT03, No Joke and why I am so upset, and same with the MT07 except it had some sticky plastic over the lens but the rest was just like this pic of my MT03
Imagine my thoughts, from excitement to “What Is This”, $200, down the toilet

Speaking of which, how do we go about filing a paypal dispute? I have given Haikelite more than enough time to get their shit together and they have done nothing, so I’m ready to go forward with this.
I’ve never filed a paypal dispute before, what do I do exactly? I mean, I did receive a product, but it was nothing like what they described, and a partial (if not full) refund seem fair. Does anyone know the process?

I assume you ordered it directly from them, and being they are not responding, you have ample grounds to open a PP dispute with them. I found it fairly easy to go thru the PP website screens. I can't recall the exact verbiage they use, but you basically open up a 2 way message conversation with the seller under control and audit by PP, but PP does not get involved. If they fail to respond at all to the PP opened conversation, you win automatically.

Believe me, PP is not in business to lose money, so if enough of these disputes are opened where HaikeLite doesn't respond, or gets to a PP ruling against them, PP will drop them like a hot potato, and I would think HaikeLite wouldn't want that.

If you want to play, gotta play by the rules - hope they don't learn the hard way.

Ohh - bout the lanyard, paracord, string, shoe lace, or whatever you want to call it, it's pretty sad to see it go from a really nice fancy knot, practical lanyard to a simple straight cut piece, or nothing at all. To be fair, on their website it has nothing at all I could find about a lanyard. On BangGood, it does spec a lanyard included, and I'd say a lanyard is not a piece of rope.

I never cared for a product listing where it doesn't include a "what's in the box" list.

So… still no sign of package movement whatsoever. Send a pm but no response yet. Wondering if this should be the time to do my first PayPal dispute or hold on a bit longer. Otoh with CNY getting closer things won’t be expected to move faster I guess.

Ugh Facepalm

You should have 180 days from the date of purchase to file a PayPal dispute. I’d start thinking about that at 60+ days when waiting for packages coming from China.

Do all of you guys want to get together and file one at the same time, that way they might be more apt to do something about it?

You can get MT03 for $99, promo code in description https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x8xrP6BK2hI

Also, as you can see in the review his threads are the same as ours so group buy received the same flashlights, not rejected ones.

2s2p tested, brightness is probably the same as Olight x7.

Check out at 6 minutes and 20 seconds (and 7 minutes 38 seconds). The button switch stops glowing blue, and sort of stutters a bit. Is this supposed to happen related to a step-down, or is the light buggy here as well?

I really wish I would have purchased the 2s2p version, as it seems like the 2s2p version meets the claimed specs.

Well, I got sick of waiting for their reply (I’ve given them MORE than enough time IMO!) and I filed a paypal dispute. Let’s see if this gets their attention.

I know it’s been said to the effect that 2S2P appears to be the better one but mhanlen also had issues. See post #252

That’s the moment when batteries went under 50%, blinks two times every 10 seconds.

For what it is worth, I purchased an MT103 outside of this GB on Nov 14th, and received it here in France on the 30th Dec.

I got the shoelace, o-rings and light, but no plastic bag, alas. However, I am pleased to say I think my 4S version is behaving correctly, blue switch light and all. I have no way of measuring the output, but all the modes work well and on turbo I have managed to blind several cows and set fire to the woods nearby. I assume all is well with the Devourer’s power as I have a Sunwayman D40A as a house torch and its turbo output is bang on the same as the 1000 lumens middle mode of the Haikelite. Turbo on the MT103 is brighter than a full beam headlamp from the car by some margin.

I use the torch mainly for walking the dogs at night (we get some boars here that aren’t too friendly and I enjoy scaring the crap out of the deer) and I still have yet to recharge my Sanyo GA’s. I like everything about the light to be honest – but judging by what seems to have gone on I have obviously been very lucky.

I did contact Alva several times during the transaction and he replied every time quite courteously, so heaven knows what has really happened. I’m saddened that so many of you seem to have been dealt a bum deal on what has been a great purchase for me. My condolences….. Sad

Sorry to hear some people didn’t get their light yet, I got 4 of them just fine, 3( 2 MT03 and 1 MT07 plus 8 batteries) through GB and was shipped by DHL and bought another one MT07 shortly after ( few bucks more than the GB price though ) for keeping the other one from being lonely LOL

Now,the strange thing is..when the batteries drained a bit from too much showing off.
The lights can’t be turn OFF, it just kept on cycling in modes. the only way to turn it off is by unscrew the battery tube.
Anybody else have this problem? btw this is happened on one of the MT03 and all the lights is 2S2P,

And of course I got the shoe string cord, no biggie, I never care about the strings anyway.

The only way to do a great work is to love what you do.

Received some potentially positive answer from HL that they would look into it and re-send a light (version II) if the package is lost.

I received a message from them as well! They said that they would send me a MT03 version II 2s2p since I was unhappy with the original light they sold me. I’m not counting my chickens before they hatch however, but this is definitely a good sign.

I am currently replying to a Mr Lee from HaikeLite,
And normally I never would never no matter what post a part of or an entire personal message to the public, but this is not a normal situation, so I am posting for all to read what he has said to me, and the why things are the way they are at the moment with HaikeLite,
My response is reasonably straight forward, not many options for them from my point of few and reply, it’s like this.. resend me two lights in 2S2P, as he admits that 4S and the driver is the primary issue as we have suspected here on thread, and then just flat out sloppy work in changing out battery configuration plates to 4S, telling us stupid reason for why taking so long to get things shipped, all is very clear, so my demand is two new lights, period and you can keep the $20 you still owe me, if not acceptable, fine PayPal dispute, I also warned him of the dispute already in progress and that he and their company are running out of time to reply to disputes, and this will cause them major problems so I advise to pay attention, contact PayPal and start explaining or they are going to go under real fast, BG and GB will not be happy with a vendor who has PP issues either..

Hi Mr Gary

Really sorry for the lack of communication these days.

Our boss is badly sick in hospital these days…Many things are in a mess in our company. Alva went home to look after him.

MT03 II is ready in stock now… I m in charge all the after-sale issue now.

In our test, 2P2S driver is much brighter than 4S driver in turbo mode.

So what do you want us to help? Resend you a new MT03 II with 2S2P driver?

Best Regards!
Lee

Edit: I sure hope you all understand why I thought posting this entire message as so important, definitely not something I would ever do to you or another member, regardless of circumstances, this is just to important and tells us and the members of this GB who and what is involved now that Alva is out of the picture, seems like some good faith effort, maybe..?? But not counting my chickens or fortune cookies either.. I don’t have any chickens anyhow..

I got the same message you did. I’ll give them a couple weeks to get their shit together. That said, I’m not closing out my paypal dispute until I have the new light in hand.

Im in similar situation….bought 2xMT03 and MT07 before Xmas but nothing arrived.

PayPal dispute has lodged but no resolution /communication from seller yet.

I would be happy if they ship the lights with new model. I really like the design and I think I can mod to pump more juice.

Maybe the story is true, give them benefit of the doubt, maybe Alva is his wife / daughter is going back to care for him.
Just remember.. they are a new start up company, they might not have enough people to work for them ( or shell out $$ to pay for extra employee). that’s probably things are difficult when you don’t have the boss around to make the decisions.
I received all of mine, and a lot of other guys also received theirs too. so have some patience, with that said of course patience within 45 days of paypal protection.

I came out from year long hiatus from BLF, just recently active again.. ( maybe my mistake coming back.. my wallet is a lot thinner again Facepalm )

Things happened whether you want to hear it or not, upon coming back here again, I just heard the news of one of my favorite modder Justin AKA Oldlumens has passed away ( R.I.P Justin )
Never thought that could happen to someone that we love, but things do happen.

So.. instead raising your blood pressure yourself, grab something nice and cold from the fridge and pick one of your lights and just turn them ON and start shining at stuffs, just to make yourself happy.
I did that with one of my light that Justin built for me… shine them to the sky upon hearing the news of his passing,
And don’t worry about the lights, I’m pretty sure they’re decent company willing to make things right.
BTW I’m in no way have associate or work for them Wink

The only way to do a great work is to love what you do.

I am patient and I do believe they started everything with the best of intentions, but the 4S request by us is what really did mess up Alva and HaikeLite, they just didn’t know about potential driver issues and admitted to me they have serious QA issues and would try to do better, so I’m willing to work with them in any way I can, maybe even send just a bit more cash if they can come through for me..

Unless I’m mistaken that was already ‘in the works’ and not a special request. I could be wrong, but I don’t recall them making 4S because we wanted it.

Also, 2S2P variations have had output issues as well, not just 4S.

4S was there in the beginning. When we first spoke of getting an MT07 to review, I was asked if I wanted 2S2P or 4S. This was before the 4S was even mentioned or listed anywhere. There might have been talk bout it before hand though in the thread, not sure.

Kenny - I got my MT07 resistor modded and got a nice bump. Plan on swapping the LED for a P2 1C for a little more boost.

Btw, nice to see you back! Hope all is well...
