Review ThruNite T01 (AAA) light

This is the ThruNite T01 AAA keychain light. The light was sent for review from ThruNite in return for my review and no other compensation other than the light.
The T01 is on sale at the time of this review for $6.95 , if purchased from the ThruNite site directly. Great little stocking stuffers or “noob” gifts either one.

I will just start by saying , I was a little skeptical about such a tiny little keychain light when I was asked to review this one.

That all disappeared as soon as I took this little Gem out of the box though. I was pleasantly surprised with the finish the look and the build quality of the T01. I proceeded to put a NiMH cell in it and twisted the head to see that not only did it put out a good amount of light , but it was NOT the yucky blue tint I had figured it would have , nor was the beam all ringy and NO artifacts at all.
I went outside after it got dark and was further impressed with the little light , as I could actually see things more than 20 or 30 feet away. As a matter of fact I could see out at 40 to 50 yards if someone was standing out there , to identify them as a person. I have had small keychain lights in the past but this is the first one THIS small , I have had personally , that does such a good job.
I was also surprised to find that the “pill” or driver section IS NOT glued into the head of the T01 and can easily be removed if you want to mod this one.
It is listed at 40 minutes run time , but I got about an hour of “useable light” with the light running continuously. I am not saying it stayed at 125 lumens , but it was useable light and maybe 25 or 30 lumens as a guess , by the time it reached the one hour mark.

NO I am not a walking ad for Thrunite at all……lol
I really am impressed with this light , but as it goes , so is my wife , and she already has the T01 on her keychain as I am typing this. :person_facepalming:

There are actually a good many pictures in the video portion of the review to be such a small , simple light , including beamshots , a tear down of the head section , and some still shots of the light itself (starting at 4:35 in video) and also some live footage shining outside with the light (starting at 8:05 in video) for those who might not want to watch the whole video.

Cool, I just ordered 2 from Thrunite. They look pretty easy to mod.

Thanks for the report. I rarely watch videos due to bandwidth constraints, but your text told me what I needed to know. I can so identify with this statement:

"NO I am not a walking ad for Thrunite at all…..lol

I have reviewed 2 of ThruNite's small lights and had the same experience. Was hard to find fault in them. My wife hasn't stole either of them yet, but it's not a bad thing when she does. I like that she appreciates nice lights and actually uses them.

Nice little lights.
I didn’t even think to measure while I had the driver section out , but I think it may be about a 10mm driver , which you should be able to find fairly easy.

Yea the T01 as I stated , really did surprise me in more than one way.

My wife has put claim to 3 lights so far (all small ones) one for the car , one for her purse and one for the keychain now.

Are you writing a movie?
Edit- I need a light like this but why does it have to be so bright?
