Help me choose please

I'm getting ready to purchase my first "real" torch and I need help deciding which one. I'm looking for a dedicated thrower to help me find addresses at night. I've asked for advice in this thread and, based on input and a little more research in this forum, decided to choose between the Cree Q5 or the Cree T6 unless my original choice seems better. Which one would you guys choose? Before suggesting a better choice, I just want to add that I need to keep this under $20. Thanks

I'd go with your original choice.

Murman,

I suggest the C8 T6 among those three as long as you can get it under $20. It will provide great flood as well as decent throw. The MRV with the Q5 will give great throw and blah flood. The 501b will be just a so-so light compared to the other formats. It really depends on what you want it for. The C8 is the best all-around light of the three unless your goal is pure throw then the MRV with a Q5 is tough to beat in that price range.

murman,

I have both those lights. I would recommend the Ultrafire C8 Q5 if you want the better thrower or the one you listed. I like both. If you want the way brighter light up close with more flood, the Ultrafire C8 XM-L would be the better choice. And if you want a light that will be brighter yet and a better thower to say out to 400yds I would spend the $4 to $5 more and buy the Keygos KE-5 on ebay. If you wish to pm me, I can tell you more on this light. That is still my favorite light I own as of right now.

Keep in mind he wants a light to keep in his UPS truck to be able to see house addresses.

Ok guys, I decided to go with the Q5. It arrived on Thursday and the batteries arrived today. I thought my 3cell LED Maglites were the bomb until I fired this little Q5 up tonight. Wow, thanks guys for the advise. I don't think I will have any trouble at all finding addresses at night with this searchlight! And it's small enough to keep in my jacket pocket also. I'm very pleased with this purchase.
