Liitokala 500 question

what does it mean when the “END” indicator is flashing at the end of a charge or test?

(these are potentially old batteries i am trying to test, NiMH, i want to sort them into ‘still usable’ and ‘discard’)

usually the charge it has given the battery is pretty low, sometimes the battery is pretty warm at the end…

does this mean “terminated early”?
what are the possible reasons?

it means that it’s done measuring battery capacity and is now charging. When it’s done flashing, your battery is now fully charged.
I was a bit confused as well when I got mine. I thought there was something wrong at first becuse the voltage was 3.8 volts when I noticed the flashing END. Then I noticed the voltage reading increased by a digit, so I left it alone. Low and behold it fully charged slightly high at 4.23 volts which is fine.

but but but

it is also charging BEFORE the END light comes on, the mAH numbers are increasing.
pretty sure they don;t go up after it starts flashing
you are saying flashing means “still charging” or “charging phase 2”?

i am pretty sure it never flashes for some of them
just goes from “steadily increasing voltage and mah” to END (not flashing).

the manual certainly does not say what it is doing

keep in mind i am in the NOR test mode, not just regular charging

In the NOR test it charges your battery first, then discharges to 2.83 volts. That’s where the capacity reading ends. Now it starts charging again and the END is now flashing. Once it’s fully charged, the END is now solid (no flashing)

Normal charging you will get a solid END when it’s done charging
I’ve never tried the fast test so I can’t comment on that.

ok thanks
maybe that will help make sense of some illogical results i was getting
i would stop the test on flashing-end….

if it helps

charge = is charge, count on the way up from any voltage

normal = fully charge/discharge,count/recharge (mAh coming out its more accurate )

fast = discharge from any voltage/charge,count (mAh “going in” less accurate)
