This is the upgraded version of the TC12 , with a few added features the older model did not have , such as the battery level indicator on the side switch and the onboard USB charging. The TC12 V2 also comes in both cool and neutral tints.

The TC12 V2 is another very well built light from ThruNite with excellent fit , finish and overall performance. The knurling on this light is very nice and very grippy and I really like it (personal preference) The threads are very smooth and very well cut (although they were overly lubed) that is easily resolved with a quick wipe. Anodizing on the sample I received is also near perfect. The TC12 V2 also has manual lockout with 1/8 to 1/4 turn of the tailcap and direct access to strobe from any mode by pressing and holding the side switch for about one full second. There is also Mode memory when the light is turned off and it goes to the last used mode when turned back on.
The TC12 V2 also comes with the Thrunite 3400 mAh cell included.

I forgot when showing the charging in the video , the tail switch needs to be set to the “ON” position before starting the charging in order for the light to charge properly , so it showed the purple flashing indicator in the video , which means “error”. The charging DOES work as it should on my sample when it is done correctly , as I have charged the light a few times with the onboard charging.

The only 2 negatives I found with this light is , the side switch indicator does not come on in the firefly mode and only engages in low or above modes. The second thing is that if you stay in any mode other than firefly for 5 or more seconds , you cannot simply go to the next level (low to medium or medium to high and so on) as the light will go back to the firefly mode after the 5 or more second pause when you click the side switch. If you want to go to the next higher mode it must be done in 4 or less seconds to prevent starting over in the mode order and having to scroll through all the modes again.

Comparison chart of the lights used……….

I think I got the rest covered in the video and for those who do not want to watch the whole video the still shots and beamshots start at 8:06 and the outside shining and comparisons with the Nitecore EC20 the Olight S30R III and the TC12 V2 start at 11:51.

Good light. Modes are well spaced.
Unfortunately price is little bit higher and Thrunite do not have representative in my country.
In oposite Nitecore has and thay give 5 years warranty.
That is why I am still wondering what to buy.

Yes so far all the Thrunite products I have received have been nice quality.

Maybe Amazon site for your country?

I think ThruNite has a 2 year warranty on theirs?

Just in case anyone was / is wondering about ThruNite Warranty / Return service , it is all listed at the below link about halfway down the page.

I don’t think the mode cycle resetting is necessarily a negative. I think that’s by design. I think it’s for the people who complain about being forced to cycle through the higher modes to get back to the lower modes, which fries their night vision. Now, your night vision is preserved unless you really wanted to use the higher modes.

Yes you have a good point in one direction no doubt. It is mostly a personal preference thing I guess , as some will probably be as I am and others may love the UI as it is.

I was speaking IF you DO want the next higher mode though , then you start over and go back through to get there.
On the plus side it DOES have last mode memory also , which is stored almost immediately , without having a long pause for the mode memory to engage as many lights do.

Not a deal breaker to me really either way though , because the light is a really nice light with very good quality. It is also a little smaller than most of the USB side port charging 18650 lights I have seen.(another plus)

Would much rather have the quality and have to cycle modes , than have all the features I want and otherwise a not so great product.

I bought a Thrunite TC15 V2. While it is a nice light, my biggest complaint is how hard it is to find the on/off switch. It blends in far to well with the rest of the light body. I find myself turning it around and around in my hand while trying to find the switch. Not good when you need fast light!

I prefer my Olight Warrior Mini, which seems a tad brighter and has an easier switch, but it also cost a bit more as well.
