Gearbest problems?

I ordered two flashlights from GB over the weekend. I used an active CC for each. Both listed as in stock. Paid with PP. Both were refunded and I’m not sure why? I tried to access the online chat but it’s not working. So I opened a ticket on each to find out what’s the issue.

Anyone else have problems in the last week or so?

I got a coupla things still sitting in China since the 12th, but no refund yet…

I’ve pretty much given up purchasing anything at Gearbest anymore. They wouldn’t ship batteries they stocked in the Los Angeles warehouse to a US address saying it was illegal to mail them, which is bs. They canceled an “in stock” folding knife order saying it was illegal to ship to the US. Even though I had bought several within the last 8 months from Gearbest. Fasttech had no problem shipping the same knife to me. I think it came down to GB not wanting to sell the knife at the price point they coupon’d it on a Christmas sale, so they made up some bs about it being illegal to ship. Same with the batteries.

It looks like you had a Paypal dispute in your favor against GB a while back.
They tend to blacklist people that do that.

I got 2 light sitting at the airport, supposed to be shipped IB. One order was recently downgraded to post NL without my consent. I do like Gearbest and chalk it up to holidays.

I don’t recall having an issue with Gearbest. I did have a PP dispute against Banggood. I’ll see what answer GB gives me but to be honest I think I’m going to put them in the same category as DX, FT and BG. It’s kinda like rolling the dice anymore. The only consistent China vendor I’ve dealt with now is Simon at Convoy on Aliexpress. Have to give credit where it’s due and he’s always delivered and I’ve ordered items from him a half dozen times.

I’m thinking that places like M.E. is the way to go from now on. And if they don’t have something then I guess I don’t need it. I dunno, just get tired of doing all the research on a particular flashlight and then see the order go south. I’m thinking that yeah, the CC dropped the price lower than they wanted to sell and so they come up with an excuse. But then why offer a CC on a product at all?

I’d forgotten that I had to do a PP dispute against GB. I went back into my tickets and saw it earlier this year. Started out usual ‘check your address’ and ‘check your post office’. Then went to saying it takes up to 25 days, then it takes up to 45 days and then finally that it takes up to 3 months. So this is now the second issue with them. Too bad, but it’s my fault for not remembering the last issue and shopping elsewhere. I won’t make that mistake again.

I got two different answers to the two tickets I opened with your CS. One said that the PP transaction was unverified. Rather odd considering that PP completed the transaction and I have a record of it (paid on the 24th and refunded on the 25th). And it’s the same PP account I’ve used with you before and continue to use, without issue with other vendors for various products including Richard at Mountain Electronic (twice) within the last few day including today. All of those processed just fine.

The second response was even more vague saying to check my account.

No offense intended, but Gearbest not only lost those two sales but any future purchases I would have made.
