CRX's Last Mod of the Year - Airayland MT-G2 :)

For those looking for a very compact stainless steel AA light, this one from BG is quite good.

It is three mode starting on low – med – High with reverse clicky and is fairly well built. Not bad stock, it states no 14500 but i ran it for a while on li-ion and it didn’t blow.

This one joins the crazy microlight club… LOL

MT-G2 Q0 5000k emitter on noctigon
10mm FET Driver
Potted
Forward clicky
ARC glass
2 × 14250 280mAh cells
3.5A max current

Max – 1400lm
cd – 550
Throw – 47m

.

.

.

Happy New Year from Scotland!

I like the feel of smaller SS lights, the Kronos SS is a beast but smaller lights like the 348, Mini-01, and C3 SS just feel more solid than similar Alu lights. I need a driver/led swap in my C3, lousy tint and 5-mode blinky driver but should be a great edc.

Three Tanna leaves to give him life, nine to give him movement. But what if he eats the whole bag?

CRX,

Love this, started laughing as soon as I saw MT-G2 on the list. 10mm driver, got to grin.

Look forward to your future Mod’s too.

Cheers,
S-L Smile

P.S. Did you ever shoehorn a V8 3.5 Litre Rover Engine into a Milk Float when you were younger? Just Asking!

Ouchyfoot to a New Member: Welcome CJ. Now you have to learn about buying an inexpensive flashlight and modifying it until it either blows up, or starts small fires on the moon…………

Hugh Johnson:
I, too, once lived a tragic and empty life. Then I found [portable] light.
You forgot to mention clothes. I sold most of my clothes to fund my light collection. This is actually fine, since I only go out after dark, and most people can’t see me.
Finally, I got my priorities straight.

Yeah i much prefer small steel or ti lights, love the feel of titanium, it’s just the heat dissipation problems of the current tech for the moment…
The C3 can be improved in many ways, nice form it has.
I modded the SS tailcap button version with the nitecore sens ADT auto dimming driver & pill, sent it along with the Ganzo G708 to serp from my giveaway as an extra gift. shhh LOL

That’s a question, i bought it a few years ago after much searching, as i believe steel lights should have matching button covers.
I don’t know if they are still available, you can only search mate.

I thought you had this problem solved by having a battery so small that there was virtually no runtime?

It’s fantastic Big Smile
They both are beautiful. I was pleasantly surprised and did not expect such a turn Party
I really enjoyed knife.
Custom flashlight is very nice. In the double’s nice that it’s not the factory item, and made master of his craft!

I was surprised by the power button, and I still have never encountered such an interesting algorithm of the driver.
I am very pleased with this flashlight. Thank you Smile

P.S. WOW it is made of carbon fiber!
I am again surprised.

You make some sweet stuff, CRX, and I bet the beam of this mod is beautifu to behold (love the MT-G2’s tint, even if it’s relatively ineficient).

Could anyone tell me more about the stock version of this torch?

Thanks mate, yeah I really like the tint of the MT-G2. The light has a brass pill with very fine threads, a brass driver retaining ring and no bezel. The tail switch has another brass retainer and a plastic screw in holder which strips very easily if played with too much. I think the stock tint was ok. Quite a nice very compact steel AA light.

That’s fair for the price, I suppose. Any idea as to lumens and runtimes, even if approximate? Can’t find a peep about them.

Hey CRX, I want to buy this light and of course I’m already planning an emitter swap. How hard is it to remove the driver and LED board ?

The driver sits in a very finely threaded brass pill with a screwed retaining ring, the unit comes out the back end so long thin tweezers or such are required. Be careful of cross threading and same with the switch.

Okay so the light is a long threaded tube at the end and the bezel is integrated ?
The only access is by the tail ?

Yeah, the light is threaded at the both ends, the pill slips through the tail threads. The body/ bezel is one piece.
Took a little while to figure that out after a few on NYE Big Smile
