Eneloop Pro AAA - best prices?

I want to buy some Eneloop Pro AAA, but they are highly priced, even compared to Eneloop Pro AA.

(Amazon prices:)

Eneloop (regular) AA: $36/18pc = $2.25/cell
Eneloop (regular) AAA: $24/12pc = $2/cell

Eneloop Pro AA: $33/8pc = $4.12/cell (“overpriced” on Amazon because the Amazon Basics High-Capacity AA is agreed to be a re-wrapped Eneloop Pro, and they cost ~$2/cell)
Eneloop Pro AAA: $27/8pc = $3.375 (The Amazon Basics AAA options are not Eneloop Pros, per HJK testing they do not perform as well as the Eneloop Pro AAA, the AMZ Basics AAA perform poorly overall actually)

Any better sources for Eneloop Pro AAA?

(Or comparable high performance LSD AAA NiMH?)

Thanks!

I would go with the Ikea Ladda cells if you aren’t too far from a store. HKJ tests look good, they appear to be equal to EnePro. I’ve been pleased.

I was just about to post these too. I’ve started using these over Eneloops now. They seem working absolutely fine for me.

Sweet, I was going through HJK reviews and totally missed those. Look like a great option.

I’m 2 hours from an Ikea, but that Ikea is close to where my sister-in-law lives – so I’ll stop in and stock up next time we visit her.

How about Fujitsu “High Capacity” black ones @ 950mAh? As far as I can interpret HKJ’s test results, they look about equivalent to Eneloop Pros.

I see they’re 4 for $10 at Newegg, $3 shipping unless you buy 3 packs, then shipping is free. Still not a great deal, but $2.50/ea is better than anything else I see right now. Searching history at Slickdeals, I see they’ve been <$2/ea at various points in the past year, but not predictable – sometimes it’s only a 2-pack, sometimes it’s lumped with AA’s, etc. But if you set up a “Deal Alert” there, you can get an email next time a deal pops up.

Look for Enelong on Fasttech.
Unfortunately there’s extra shipping cost, so better order a couple of packs.

Looking for:

5” parabolic reflector (for recoil light)

Thanks Andyman, that looks like another good alternative especially if you can wait for a sale. I may keep an eye on that. And it would be a fair deal for those not near an Ikea. For the moment I can wait till our next visit to the SIL / Ikea for $7/4pc ($1.75/cell)

Wow – that’s a nice price! I don’t live near an Ikea either – I’ve seen a couple of mentions of these batteries, but haven’t seen prices (or if I did I forgot). I’ll have to keep an eye out if I’m traveling somewhere near a store.

The Fujitsu cells mentioned by Andyman in post #5 are available on eBay for $18.95/12pc, minus 10% if you buy 2 lots ($34.10/24pc = $1.42/cell).

http://www.ebay.com/itm/12-Pack-Fujitsu-HR-4UTHCEX-AAA-High-Capacity-NiM...

Reviews seem to indicate authentic cells. I went ahead and bought the last two currently listed.

Another nice deal! I actually found a 4-pk of the Ikea Ladda cells for <$7 on ebay after my last post, and I didn’t really need more AAA’s anyway, so I should be set for a while. Wink

Fujitsu Blacks are FDK made cells. Fujitsu owns the FDK plant, the patents and the technology and makes the Eneloop batteries for Panasonic.

Since you’re in the States, look to the Duracell Ion Core AAs and even AAAs. Places like Toys R Us, ChinaMart, Target, most super markets all have them. Batteries made in Japan is what you seek. Some Duracell/Energizer brands are Chinese. I also love the Energizer 2300mAh silver foil jobbies, which are FDK made, as well.

Anywhere from $7.99/quad, to $10.99 for the Duracell Ion Cores/Energizer 2300s. They are FDK sourced hi-caps and can be bought on your next beer run.

My last two batches were 8 Fujitsu White 4th Gen. AAs and 4 Fujitsu Black AAs.

The US Distributor for Fujitsu sells over on Ebay under various handles, with perfect feedback. Look for the sellers out of Sandy, Utah, or Salt Lake City. They seem to rotate between the various user names they sell under, but SLC/Sandy Utah is what you want.

They also distribute Eneloops by the caseload.

Good info Chris, it looks like I unknowingly bought from the seller on eBay that you describe: “fast.energy”, 100% feedback, location is SLC.

Cool. ShopGL is one that I used, UPCGlobal, is another.

I don’t know why they change names, but all of the 3-4 that I’ve witnessed over the 2+ years have had 100% positive feedback.

I remember first finding them and they were selling the blue 1800 cycle Eneloops that we see at Costco in the starter packs. I thought at the time, that these guys are hijacking tractor trailers because they had so many batteries and the included chargers. It was funny.

They then obviously struck a deal with Fujitsu/FDK/Panasonic and became the US Distributor here in the States.

Anyhow, it’s just something to note. I’m now at 5 years since I completely revamped my rechargeable batteries, cells and chargers, so one picks up some info here and there.

Good luck.

Chris

5th Gen Eneloop AAA really have 2000mAh?
Anything is possible but that seems too good to be true.

That does not seem correct, and according to ChibiM’s info in This Thread ; it is not.

Yeah I know but……

16 AAA + charger Panasonic eneloop Kit 2000mAh Ni-MH AAA rechargeable batteries

And….

16 AAA Panasonic eneloop 2000mAh 2100 cycle Ni-MH LSD AAA rechargeable batteries

Only justification I can make it its a mistake and the cells are AA, Not AAA

OK thanks for the links to that. Something is not right there…. cause there is not a 2000mAh AAA Eneloop. Wink

They run all of these ads for all of batteries and it can get confusing. They misspoke with the ‘2000mAh’ part.

They’re AAA. If you look at the text description, you’ll see .8 Ahr, which is generally what AAA Eneloops spec at.

Yeah the FDK or even duraloops in quantities are still one of the better things to buy off ebay . the Salt lake city seller is a nice source for sub 2$ eneloop pro type cells .
My good LSD AAA’s were all hiding in lights and all my cheap chinese AAA’s which worked ok when new were all falling on their faces [kodak, energizer 15 min.,chinaloops, chinaenergizer, enercell.panasonic orange AAA’s made in china from my cordless phones etc..All of it failing fast
I bought 20 AAA FDK blacks from Utah seller $30 for 20
and 28 AAA LSD Turnigy from hobby king because they were stupid low priced at $1.79 for a 4 pack …They only had 7 packs or I would have bought more Smile they tested well and will work well for another three or four years then crash and burn . the turnigy don’t even say where they were made ….. My guess is the north pole Smile

For us living in Europe, NKON.NL is one of the best sources for Eneloops.

In the UK Fujitsu AA and AAA are cheaper than Eneloops and have Made in Japan in big letters on the packet, So no chance of getting the lower quality made on China Enloops.

I bought 2 packs of Fujitsu AAA 900mah (Eneloop Pro) and i got around 930mah when i did a break-in using my Maha C9000, I also have 4 packs of the Fujitsu 800mah AAA.

Yeah, those are made in Japan Eneloops as they have the green stripe at the top, the made in China Eneloops have the green bar 5mm or so further down the battery according to what i have read.

$5.58 for 4 is a great price

BUT that assumes you paid $99 for PRIME to get free shipping My guess is Amazon loses a lot of business because of their pay to play business model . I don’t even look at amazon any more because of it .

lol.
Yeah if you joined Amazon Prime and only bought those batteries, you actually paid $104.58…… for 4 AAA batteries.
But I think for most people, once they pay the $$$ they tend to order more from Amazon. That was the idea.
Problem is, I hear lots of people complaining they do not get 2 day shipping even though they paid for Prime membership

Not sure if you’re saying that meaning that many products are not 2-day eligible, or the 2-day shipping doesn’t arrive in 2 days as promised?

If the former, I disagree – almost everything can be had with 2-day shipping if you choose the right seller.

And if the latter – I almost like when my shipments are late! If you have a guaranteed 2-day item that didn’t arrive on time, call Amazon and tell them nicely about the issue. Each time it has happened to me, they have credited me a month of Prime for free – that’s one $8 value. I’ll take that in trade for a day or two shipping delay any time!

In the UK Amazon Prime is £7.99 a month, If i have a few things to order over a month i sign up for prime, and then before my next £7.99 is due to be paid, I stop my membership, I have done this a few times now, no point in paying money if you are not going to order anything, or buying stuff just because you have paid for Prime.
