Lighted Tailcap Troubleshooting

I’m doing a build using the X5/X6 driver purchased from banggood in a Convoy S2+ with a lighted tailcap. Is there any tips in troubleshooting the resistor values to get the modes to work correctly? I notice different behavior with different switch resistor values, but am trying to figure out if I need to change anything on the driver as well. Which way would I move the driver bypass in order to shorten the off-time to go backwards?

On my light with the original convoy driver (231 ohm bypass), it needs to be off for a very long time (> 10s) before an off doesn’t look like a mode change.

On my X5/X6 driver (~490 ohm bypass), I can’t appear to go backwards in mode selection, unless I use a non-lighted tailcap.

I’ve tried both above with 3 different tailcap resistor values. I just don’t want to burn out the PCB pads in trying to get it to work.

All advice is appreciated!

I might have found what to try in the below post, that a 1:6 ratio or lower of bleeder:tail resistance, but am still curious if anyone has any other tips.
