My slow 500 post giveaway: DRAWN: congrats gchart

Hi folks,
I’m rather dormant poster that would like to do a 500 post giveaway. Given my post frequency 500 posts for me is actually quite awhile from now. However I already know what I’d like to giveaway. Due to my shipping limitations I was rather displeased with how I had to limit my 200 post GAW to US-only members.

As such I would like to giveaway a $25 electronic GC to ebay. Am I correct that our non-US members can easily use those things too? (as in those GCs aren’t country specific, no right?) This GAW ends once I reach 500 posts. Although, as I post at a snails pace I might just opt to abruptly end it early on my birthday (it’s in the summer.)

The rules for this giveaway are rather simple as there is only ONE RULE:
[& because 95% of the reason I log onto BLF is b/c I love seeing the posted mods(basically all of them. Both rough & refined.)]

& thus the one rule is that in your post you must post a link to one of your mods that you posted on BLF. I also like to read posts such as emitter tests & the like. I’ll accept those as well. Now the post mods aren’t limited to just light mods but the non light submitted mods will be subject in their validity for this giveaway (i.e. I don’t wanna see stuff such as a toilet paper roll repurpose as a biodegradable pot for seed starting…)

Once I hit 500 posts (or perhaps on my birthday) I will draw (via a random generator) the 1st VALID entry.

Thanks for looking & good luck,
AZ

s. & oh yeah, this giveaway is not limited to one entry per poster. But it is limited to one entry per linked mod. & modders -> make my life easier by linking each mod in it’s own post. thanks!
s.#2 & yep, $25 is nothing to get excited about but it will buy you some solder, chip in for a new soldering station, chip in for a new light(aka host), etc…

Nice idea for a GAW. I guess I’ll enter with my TN31 mod. Link

As it was just done today, I’ll submit me first real emitter reflows! Experimenting with some XP-L2 in a S41S, Linky

Nice GAW! Would make a nice dent in my next desired equipment purchase: a rework station

I like this idea for a giveaway. It rewards some of the biggest contributors to BLF.

Unfortunately, I am not a modder as yet, so I will happily sit this one out.

Good luck to all!

Good idea alphazeta, thanks for your GAW! :-)

I haven't done a real flashlight mod so far (I'm still waiting some parts to mod my B158 and a triple S2+), so I'll post my Nitecore Tube… tailstanding :P as a mod that might count to your GAW.

Olight S* TIR conversion for my entry.

My Klarus XT12GTS mod

No mods either, but thanks for the giveaway

The one i used most, almost daily are my keychain lights.

I have a 47’s Atom triple XP-L HI with momentary magnetic tailswitch that can be operated with the light attached or detached to the keyring holder which i made from a flashlight strike bezel. The light can also be used as a normal twisty.
LD3 driver with temp control, two tritium vials in tail and one on top of the holder. Graphite aesthetics.
Also on this keyring is a DQG Hobi Plus with 365nm UV emitter, ZWB2 glass and the DQG lighter in the top section.

Thanks for the giveaway :+1:

Hmm CRV and other pro modders should have more entries!

a mod of me:

post

Congratulations alphazeta!

Hmm, I will have to choose one: Uniquefire UF-T20 mod: 3.05A xpg2-3C dedomed on Sinkpad back in 2013 is one of my first mods, it showed in a Uniquefire T20 how the brand new Sinkpad boards in combination with a well-driven dedomed XP-G2 resulted in a for the time quite unprecedented throw. Nothing special nowadays though

Yesterday I upgraded the tailcap in my Astrolux SS (triple) to a Gen2 board with blue & white LEDs. Such a beautiful light, but quite heavy. Link

Well, I’ve done a few mods here and there, but I haven’t posted any of them, so I guess I’m not in. But this is a great GAW idea! And $25 is a respectable amount of money. I wouldn’t turn it down!

Not a modder, so no participation from me. Still, appreciate the generosity!

Well I haven’t reached 500 posts yet nor is it my BDay yet but I feel like drawing so this GAW is now closed. I’ll most likely draw sometime today (or at latest this weekend.) Gotta love the odds of winning for each contestant.

At a glance each valid contestant should have over an 11% chance of winning

Drawn & the winner is…

  1. gchart :+1:

I’m shooting a PM w/ a link to your code in a few min. Congrats! (EDIT - sent via PM)

Well thanks for the GAW
Congrats winner
And may you reach 1000 soon

Woohoo, thank you alphazeta!

Well in that case I’d better plan my 1k post GAW soon

Actually I may reach it sooner than later b/c I’ll probably post some tech support questions to the brain trust here.
My basic electronics knowledge is spotty at best & I just received my cheapo hot air soldering station from Ebay. It came DOA :person_facepalming:

It’s this thing. I’ll post detailed pics in another thread soon. But I opened the case & to my untrained eyes it look as if the fuse had been bypassed by a previous owner(new unit my butt.) The entire motor unit was also unmounted & just freely bouncing around inside of the case. The funny thing is -> even w/ the fuse bypassed the heat does not come on. sounds dead
