Triple REFLECTOR for X6 or C8

KD has a couple reflectors smaller than those for an SRK and I’m curious if anyone has tried either one. This 40 mm one might be a good fit for a C8 and This 36 mm one might fit an X6. Also curious if the hole layout matches the noctogon 32.

Three Tanna leaves to give him life, nine to give him movement. But what if he eats the whole bag?

Interesting find, RBD. Subscribing. Even if it fit and the Noctigon worked, we’d still need to fashion a spacer to fit. I’d be curious to see how it’d work out.

I’ll look into this, see if I can find out anything useful. The 36mm diameter is too large as the X6 requires a 35mm glass lens that just does fit into the bezel. But of course, this can be adapted. Smile I have some other things I need from Kaidomain, will probably get one or two of these and see what it takes to fit the X6. I have a handful of hosts waiting for something to do… Wink

Thanks Dale, you’re better equipped to mod the 36mm. It sounds pretty close to the cute-3 in height, close enough that it might even work with current spacers and a different lens. I’m not sure what hosts they are made for but since some prefer reflectors to optics it’s a can of works I’d like a peek into. I’m also curious to see any differences between either of them and the cute-3. Adding reflector mass can’t hurt something like an XHP-50 triple. Everyone sees C8 and automatically thinks thrower, I’d like to expand the view.

It’ll be a few weeks at best before we know. That’s why I asked if anyone had tried them.

I noticed the 36mm triple reflector too and ordered it but it still hasn’t processed yet due to CNY.

Sad the wait is on. Likely close to March to see it then.

Just ordered 3 of the 36×14mm triple reflectors, along with a few other things. So yeah, the wait is on! Haven’t ordered from Kaidomain in quite a while…

36.5 mm diameter, but possibly the same as the KD 36mm one.

Looking for:

5” parabolic reflector (for recoil light)

I have the 36mm version :

Noctigon 32mm

MAXTOCH 32mm

The flashlight I think it’s made for is the UniqueFire UF-1408 :

Khas, is it possible to center the leds with the noctigon?

I have tried to center the emitter in the reflector at the top but that leaves the other two off center.

It appears the Noctogon has the right hole layout as the reflector but the maxtoch doesn’t? How does the beam compare to the cute-3?

The solution seems to be 3× 10/16mm mcpcb’s … Soldering the wires is the tricky part , if someone can use nickel strips it will be easier .

I don’t think you can use this reflector with the Noctigon if you want all the emitters centered.

The only picture I have for comparison is the UF-1408 with the standard MCPCB re-flowed with XM-L2 U3 3D and the KD reflector VS triple X6 with Nichia 219C D320 5000K

About 1 meter from wall UF-1408 (left) X6 (right)

Khans can you take a picture of the stock UF-1408 mcpcb? There are several pcb’s on various sites that aren’t linked to a specific reflector or light, this might help identify it.

I went ahead and ordered the two reflectors. One way or another in one light or another they’ll fit something. I also included some XM > XP centering adapters for some HP options.

So, what I’m thinking… use a hacksaw and cut the Noctigon 32mm at 3 points, dividing it into thirds. Done properly, the 3 pcs should now line up and allow use of this reflector. Traces can be rejoined across the gap with flat sheet material. Wink Could either solder them back together or leave them apart, glue the individuals down to the emitter shelf using the reflector as a template to position them perfectly.

Probably as easy or almost as easy as fitting 3 16mm Noctigons and then messing with all the wiring.

(Cut on the downstroke only. Pulling a backstroke would lift traces off the mcpcb.A band saw would make this easy peasy.)

I paid KaiDomain $67.71 4 days ago, haven’t heard a word in confirmation from them whatsoever. No email at all. They got the funds, I so far have not one scrap of communication.

I think KD might still be out on CNY.

CNQG was the worst for that. I never recieved confirmation for any orders placed with them. Occasionally with a few others but KD was usually good about it.

The best mass produced connection set up I’ve seen is the through hole connection Cutter used on their 32mm boards. It allowed for very low profile since no wire was above the board.

I always drill out the Cutter via’s and user larger wires. Silly
