Sweet sixteen.......... IMALENT DT70 short video review

Ok just a short review of IMALENT DT70…
Sorry for my language but some words simply jumps out when you get excited

got my eyes on this beast

Someone could definitely lost eyes with this beast, since turbo mode is allways single click away…
I must admit that this is truly scary powerful light…

how long does turbo last until it step down Niko?

Depends on temperature, but usually 1 minut is maximum !!! It gets unpleasantly hot afther that

is it actually 16 k lumen, doubt it

Nice review. Unfortunately, I don’t trust this brand ever since many of us had problems with a headlamp we purchased on a group buy a while back. Sure is bright though. What’s the deal with the longer cells? Have you measured the length?

Respected 13,5000 lumens on start, but it drops to 12,300 really fast.
How hard is driven tells you that battery voltage from fully charged drops to 3,45V under load…

Lenght is like other protected buton top cell, but these are HIGH DRAIN protected cell’s

This was my mindset while checking out reviews the past three months or so. Sure it’s bright with about 12000+ lumens, and on paper this light is what I really want; 4P, USB charger, OLED display with voltage indication… But everything I read reminds me of the bad reputation Imalent gained in the past. The buttons feel lame and the whole light feels flimsy. Someone even described this light as “junky”. Just come to the same conclusion that this light is not going to make me happy. Such a shame…

Thanks for the review  I got to sell my Olight x7 and buy this one although I really like the quality fit feel and finish of x7 which I’m probably going to miss…

Thank you for your valuable review.

This configuration is in my area of interest. This one, and the Imalent DT35. I am keeping my eyes open for reviews/opinions.

Individual samples may vary, but from what I can tell by what I have seen posted, the Imalent brand ranks somewhere in the vast middle that exists in between “Budget brand” and “Trophy brand”.

I must, without having samples, give Imalent credit as due for the interesting configurations that they have released.

Big thanks to M4DM4X our big money saver on forum…
Anyone interested should ask him for a code, all I can say is that you will save a lot :sunglasses: (100+:money_mouth_face:, and that is what makes this light much more interesting…

Olight is trying to keep up. They plan to release a new X7R with 12,000 lumen.

I wonder how much output would increase with unprotected button top batteries. Even though it’s high amp protection still has some resistance. 13,500 otf lumens is probably around 16,000 led lumens. Still false advertising. Just interested in what some bt 30q, or vtc6 could produce lumen wise. Instead of having 4 protection circuits to go through

If you used unprotected batteries, it may be too risky to use the built in charging. Taking the batteries out to recharge is not that big a deal.

The tricky thing is getting the right length of battery. The DT70 and DT35 don’t use tall coil springs that can compress 8mm or so like other lights use. In order to get more current (and maybe force users to use only their batteries) Imalent flat disc springs. I think they only compress 1mm or 2mm. This means any non stock batteries have to be just the right length in order to make sure all 4 make good contact.

If shorter than stock batteries are to be used, maybe the stock springs can be swapped with clover dome type. You could take 2 per battery and stack big end to big end to get more compression legnth.

I think that someone on TLF,have made copper adapter for unprotected button top Q30 cell’s and the results were the same. If the emitters were left stock then I am pretty sure that there would be 16K+ lumens OTF, but me personally like it more like this. Beam is Fantastic!

so this light only get climax joy for about 1 minute? :frowning:

i was hoping it can go for few minutes

Olight will overtake, their Prototype Olight X9 claim to reach over 20K lumen, SWEET 20.000 LUMEN
Ps:actually they claim it’s 25000 LUMEN

Olight X9, so big so ugly, and trows 300 meters…. No thanks
