Dear BLFers and all customers,

This is Barry, product manager from ThorFire. We are really sorry that some customers received bad VG10 flashlights. We looked into this issue and found out 53 short reflectors were made due to wrong operation but the leader of quality control department resolved this issue in his own way without reporting to factory director and me. We fired the leader and upgraded the process of quality control to make sure this issue won’t happen again. Meanwhile, VG10 model is discontinued and will be replaced by upgraded model VG10S.

For those customers who received bad VG10 lights, we refunded the money. Furthermore, we will send VG10S lights as replacements when it’s available. Please make sure you contacted us. Thank you.

Sorry again for all the inconveniences.

Regards,

Barry
ThorFire Team

It’s very good of you to offer both a refund and upgraded replacement, it’s really going above and beyond. Thank you for taking care of BLF, honestly I would be happy just to be offered a group buy price for the upgraded VG10s. Best of luck with that and even more looking forward to the Q8. Smile

Full refund and a replacement light?

Kudos to Thorfire for going above & beyond to fix the issue.

I wasn’t part of the group buy but the company has moved to the top of my list.

I have a defective switch in one of my VG10. Thorfire sent me a replacement light!

Excellent service Thorfire.

Low mode and long runtime lover…

can we have a group guy for the vg10s when it comes available?
or how about the vg15s?
does the vg10 throw further than the vg15? it looks like the vg10 has a smooth reflector.

VG10 should throw further with the larger head and smooth reflector while the VG15s has an orange peel reflector but it has more output (over 1000 lumens vs 800s on VG10) so it’s pretty much a wash. Both pretty close to my eye.. VG10 will give you better runtimes at turbo and VG15s is more pocket friendly.

Yes, we will have a group buy for the VG10S when it is available. The VG15S will be on deals soon.
According to manual, VG10 throw Max 280 meters while VG15 200 meters.

Barry, you’re a classy guy! Thumbs Up Your leadership is confidence inspiring, responsible, and really takes the worry out of deciding whether I want to place an order (and I’ve searched and ordered many of your products recently as a consequence haha). It shows we can trust ThorFire to make it right if there’s a problem, and turn a bad situation to good. Recently ThorFire really jumped to the top of my list of brands to pay attention to for customer service:) I look forward to your involvement in the forums, like the amazing community project BLF Q8, for example. And thank you kindly for taking such good care of us! Truly Thumbs Up Wishing you and your company continued success, and I’m sure they will with you doing as you do BeerWink

Regarding suggestions for group buy or promo, I’d kindly suggest TK12 primarily, because I have not been able to find any reviews on it, which is odd because it looks like it has some desirable features (Small form factor, USB port with threaded cover, metal switch etc). It could use some exposure Smile If you are looking for more than one suggestion, I’d add the VG15s or the yet to be released VG10s (which I’m super excited about!).

I was another who got a faulty VG10 from Amazon, and despite the initial disappointment of a non-functional item, the consequent follow up customer service turned me into a loyal customer. Party

+1 on the TK12. TIR optic, compact size of 102 mm, nice metal switch, and appears to have an SS bezel. Would prefer seeing an XPL instead of XML though, but I'd buy one on a deal.

I was not aware of the TK12 – that is a really nicely spec’d light. I’d buy one – make me an offer I can’t refuse… Smile

Hmm, never seen the TK12, attractive looking and extremely compact for a 18650 tube light with USB charging. Reasonable price too.

But the dealbreaker will probably be the user interface, it seems not great, 800-350-150-15 lumen is not well spaced, why can manufacturers not get that right? (Better: 800-300-60-10). And I dread for Thorfire’s low frequency PWM, that stems from the middle ages.

If Thorfire would invest in getting their drivers up to modern standards, both hardware and software, they would become my instant favourite brand, their flashlight designs are really nice.

Maybe a discount code would get a few of these lights out there for evaluation? Wink

Thanks for your suggestion and comment, djozz. The TK12 review will come out soon and we would think about giving a discount of this product in the near future.

Hello Thorfire. Did you stop carrying the RGB LED light bulb with remote on your Amazon store? Was going to grab a few several months ago, and just remembered I still needed them, but I don’t seem them in your store. Thanks.
