Agree, for new app users 50% of a Convoy L6 this is could be a hard situation for Simon.
But he has loyal fans and gives great support so I am sure he worries little to none Smile

From what I understand you have to be a new AE member making a first purchase using the AE app.

IDK, been using the app for too long of a time
probably, make AE account -> install app -> login app -> add S70S from this store in cat -> check coupons or when you tap “buy now” check if price is reduced.

Real good price on the s70s. But with the tint options, spare driver I ordered and the nice matte anodizing the L6 is still the best choice for me.

Thats the last think L2/L6 should be proud of
After a month in your hands it wont be that lovely, and it will fell of the edges, speaking of personal exp ofc… but yes, at first it looks great

Since i orders hosts alot there was a time last year ( a month or 2) the oxidation was better and a bit different, i dunno why Simon didnt continue using it, my personal C8s and L2 are with that kind and they hold

I’m a new customer but couldn’t get the price below $40.50, which isn’t worth it at this point as I already have an L6 and MT03

Are you using the app?

My Convoy L6 thread with XHP70.2, Texas Avenger FET driver, Narsil v1.2 ramping firmware (old), lighted side switch and cut down SMO reflector. Lots of amp draws on stock driver as well.

My Supfire L5-S thread with XHP70.2, 26350 cells (4,100 lumen!), Texas Avenger FET driver, NarsilM v1.0 ramping firmware and lighted side switch. My mini L6!

LOL, that’s fine by me, I just thought I’m a moron and wasn’t doing something right.
To be honest, the last thing in the world I need is another flashlight, but for some strange reason, I can’t stop myself from buying them when it’s a bargain! lol

It looks like the hosting website is down. Hopefully it us just temporary.

There are times when being 6’1” and 280lbs. has it’s advantages. Sorry that you had a rough go. Cheers

Lots of trouble makers at this location aspecially at night and i was lucky enough the cops were around the corner that night.

I will find another location for longer beam shots.

I’ve always liked the Thorfire better than the Convoy. Thought I was in the extreme minority on that till now. Between the lighted on/off button and the anti-roll down the hill out of view feature on the body, I’m even more TF camp. This only adds to that: “The new S70s no longer turns on with the tail switch. It’s more of a lockout now. You turn it on as well as change modes with the side switch.”

One new development we’ve learned since this thread fizzled out was that the S70s driver has very high parasitic drain. I think it can drain the batteries in a couple months or so. I can’t remember the details. So make sure to physically cut the power if it’s not used often.

Did you find the Pic’s Nic..
I have both the stock black L2 and L6. from Simon.

Heard a lot about the S70 though. Maybe a possibility,
But I don’t find the L6 too hot as long as I either. hold half way down battery sleeve.
or drop from 4 to 3, when it gets a bit hot.

Sorry Macka my pics also got deleted off my computer too.

Here is my opinion… both lights perform almost the same in terms of throw (same reflector size). Thorfire have battery indicator and strap and L6 is lack off but L6 have better look and robust built.

Both of my lights now modified with Narsil 1.2 and I prefer L6 more than Thorfire S70S due to look and quality built.

if you can wait sofirn is picking the project SP70

Thorfire S70S is on flash deal for 37 usd S70S

Thank’s NIC.
But looking at those Photo’s. No thank’s, I’ll stick with the stylish Convoys.

I only buy a torch now if it really different to current run of the mill Copies of copies.
as most seem to be in general.
The most comfortable. Nicest LOOKING torch I’ve ever held for general use.
is an oooold SkyRay S-r5 with XPL P 60 drop in, in there. They still avail for $11.50 AUD del.

The Convoy L6. L2 and new C8+ seem to be the better “looking” of current crop
Even over the “top line” expensive units.

I can’t see the point (Myself) in paying all those extra $$‘s for a Named brand.
When several of the latest “budget” brands. use same innards.
Equal or near to. Quality and finish per torch.
Plus a lot of these super torches are just Soooo bloody square. dumpy, and just downright ugly.
There are VERY few, if any of the keyring, EDC torches that can touch the looks and styling of
the Astrolux AO1. BLF 348, Jetbeam Jet 1 MK. or the Mid range Sofurn C8A/T. ConvoyC8+, and my fav. My Imalent DN35.
