Simon’s customer care is extremely good. He’s always seen me right in the end, and he will send you a replacement package if need be. Sometimes the original package shows up after all, though, and then you’ll need to agree with him whether to buy the extra stuff or send it back to him.

Not sure bout AE’s or Simon’s policy but I have an experience with missing shipments with GB. They did mentioned that it takes like 2 months from date of shipment to be expired. Then only they can decide the next course of action. They agree to resend the items I ordered.
I think they have some sort of insurance contract with the shipping company to cover such event.
