Anyone using the WUBEN E346?

The price is astoundingly low.
The brand name is impossible for customers in the US to say without feeling like they need help with their Rs.
I think it’s USB chargeable but I cannot see a receptacle to plug in anything.
BUT, it’s a tiny battery crusher with a 2 level mechanical switch that doesn’t look much bigger than the battery and could be a very reliable light.
A doughnut of foam around the (-) terminal and an emitter swap (or not) and it could be good.
Threads look crappy. Any users here?

Anyone know of a CR123/16340 light like this with thick, square cut anodized threads? Don’t see the 2 level switch too much.

I don’t have that one, but I got several of the Wuben lights that use 10180 (even smaller) batteries, which looks similar design. The charge port is kind of cut into the threaded part of the body, so it is visible when you unscrew the head. One the 10180 model, there’s a green and a red LED and when it is charging, the red one comes on and then when it’s charged, the green one comes on.

The way the modes work is pretty interesting. As you tighten the head, the light comes on in low mode and if you keep tightening, it switches to high mode.

Thanks Jim, I’ve got a little light that charges like that, just couldn’t see the port in the ad.
I’ve seen many threads over the years about lights having issues with level switching problems, usually a weak connection somewhere, occasionally something in the driver. Seems like these 2 stage switches are a cheap and hopefully robust solution. Certainly that type of switch design is fairly mature and they’ve worked out the bugs by now.

I’ll play it off as “not being wasteful”, I’ve got a bunch of 16340s just sitting around and I’d like to get a couple lights to give them some service. Thinking about this and an On The Road zoomie.

I have an E346 (16340) and an E349 (14500) also an E502 (10440)

I have not used them much, too busy playing with my Ultratac K18 and THRUNITE Ti

If you have any question ask away.

John.
